We have just spent a really enjoyable and pleasant 10 night stay at the Legend Gardens Condos. The room was very clean and has good space, everything worked well and in good condition.

The best part of our stay was the friendly hosts Delia and husband Bird who really took care of all the guests, from the great fish supper evening they provided in the gardens, to taking us with their two boys to the open air cinema which my daughter and I really enjoyed.

The gardens are full of interesting plants and animals, there are monkeys passing through each day which are great to see, tortoises and interesting birds and bats.

Our room was comfortable and quiet at night as the condos are set back a good way from the road, but are only a short walk to the wonderful Mullins Beach with good restaurants and the new Sea Shed restaurant on the beach.

We hope to return again next year.

The condo itself was clean but it was the only one finished in the surrounding under construction units. Grounds were overgrown and had that uncared for look about them. In a very quiet area of island and you definitely need a car to get around. Beach which is a short walk from condo has been taken over by a private beach club which makes others using beach feel uncomfortable. Not much happening on this end of island so if you crave quiet, rustic, unfinished units around you then this is the place for you. The owners seem very nice but you can’t charge going rates for a 4* when it is a 2* property. Sorry to have to write this but others need to know what they are paying for.

We have never stayed on the west coast of Barbados before. And we were pleasantly surprised, the condo was well appointed. The pool area was great. Hosts very helpful. Short walk to the beach. We managed to see fire flies from our condo too. Monkeys entertain us.

Excellent stay with friendly hosts Delia and Bird. Shabby chic comfortable and well appointed apartments.
Lovely pool area and gardens. Friendly, helpful staff and easy to make friends with other guests. The weekly barbecues were extremely popular.

Having joined my wife in Grenada after she had been travelling through the Caribbean avoiding resorts, cruise ship locations and determinedly eating and staying locally, we arrived in Barbados full of trepidation as we assumed it would be hard to do all of the above on such a developed island. Especially on the West coast and so close to such a lovely beach like Mullins. So we feel very lucky to have come across Legend Gardens in our trusty Lonely Planet Guide. Owned and run by a lovely local family who live on site and treat all guests as their house guests, taking us to buy food from the local supermarkets and expertly recommending things to see on the island that they had worked out would suit our taste and interests. It’s no wonder that nearly everyone else here are regulars and who have become friends of the owners, Delia and Bird. We have huge respect for them both in maintaining their beliefs in an area in danger of succumbing totally to the developers dollar. What a find - we feel privileged to have met them, heard their stories, shared their hospitality and that of the other guests and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of their family for the last 8 days. Thank you!
