Waiter with dirty nails, long waiting and bad attendance. We came here following tripadvisor comments but really did not enjoy any part of the dinner. Some dishes are ok but wouldn’t really recommend this restaurant

First of all I wasnt to say that the food was great! Nice platting, nice menu. From the 5 stars they've lost one star for organising things: they reserve tables, but without reservation you do not know where to sit. They do not have reaervation plates on the tables and it was quite embarasing to be raised 3 times before finding a table. The other problem ia English. You are a good restaurant, listed on top 3 seeafood on tripadvisor and your employees DO NOT KNOW ENGLISH. We spoke with 4 people and when we asked simple questions, we received just smiles and words in French! Imagine that we asked for the check and they brought us the desert menu ... so that is another minus one star. The final cut star is for the mosquitos. Although it is not your fault, keep in mind that there are small machines like a basket that attracts and kills mosquitos for a more pleasant evening. My legs were mosquito-murdered after a 90 minutes stay there ...

Overlooking the Giens Peninsula, this restaurant offers a wonderful view provided you manage to book one of the few tables on the balcony.
The service is attentive and friendly, the food tasty and well presented, and it's nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the seaside.

After a tiring , but wonderful day in Porquerolles, we were looking forward to our dinner at Le Grand Baie. The dinner started well (The Mediterranean salad was really tasty, as well as the salmon carpaccio), however things went really down afterwards. When we arrived we were the second largest table (6) to be seated. After we put our order in, we then got the appetizers in the order of being seated, and then we waited, and waited. 45 mins later ( after a more than 5 tables with 2 or 3 people were served ( we could tell as we were seated with direct line sight to the kitchen window) even got to desserts) , my husband got up and asked how much longer... Our server came and explained they were really busy, and we had such a big table, that the kitchen could not prepare our dinner sooner. After another 15 mins (1 hour from the appetizers) we finally got our dishes ( 3 steaks Rossini , 2 duck breasts , all “a point “ = medium) . What we got was: the 2 beef and the duck breasts (slices) charred on both sides ( the beef was definitely well done and charred, the duck as well). For this “experience” we paid 205€… other people seemed happy at their tables, so it looked we were the unhappy guests last night....

A Sunday lunch to remember... Wintertime Sunday dining during low season can be a "hit or miss" experience. And today Le Grand Baie demonstrated fine seafood cuisine - A true winner!!! A full dining room is always encouraging upon arrival. The servers are friendly, well-organised, professional and kind -- and the chefs' were truly caring if we enjoyed what they had beautifully concocted for us. The panoramic seaside view from the dining room is wonderful, especially on a very windy, sunny day. My husband's Brochette de Lotte was cooked to perfection and his risotto was divine. My fresh Giant Gambas flambé à Pastis was still delicately on fire when the plate was served -- Oh la la!!! The side-dish of vegetables was a taste explosion - cooked & crunchy -- and the sauce just great. Needless to say, we will be back again - soon I hope :o))
