“Trip of a lifetime!”

Reviewed 6 April 2018

Contacted this company at late notice and Chris (the owner) sorted us out with a 3 day trip including all camping equipment and food. With Nomad Tours we really got to experience the full range of mountains and desert that Oman had to offer. It is clear they have extensive knowledge of the country and I would very much recommend to use them for any small expedition or general day trip in Oman. Our trip included Nakal Fort, camping in the Hajar Mountains and camping in the Wahiba Sands. the trip was very flexible taking into account what we wanted to see. Fantastic customer service, 100% recommend.

Chris picked us up from our hotel, showed us local restaurants on the way, settled us into our rooms and shared a beer on the roof. Next morning at 8.30 we left with Yousaf Ahmed Al Wahiabi for a 5 night/6 day trip visiting the forts, mountains, desert and sea. Every day was packed with new experiences and knowledge. We talked history, politics, religion, family, culture and learnt so much about Oman past and present and Islam in Oman. Yousaf was tireless in ensuring we saw the most of his much loved country. He drove us, informed us, trekked with us, planned ahead for us, ensured we ate well all the time, had cold water all the time, and were not ever at risk from the unfamiliar terrain. We loved it all, the mountains were cold at night and great for walking in the day, the desert was hot in the day and beautifully warm and peaceful at night, the seaside was busy in the ports but empty on the beaches and the sea was lovely to swim in. It was a busy active trip moving ever night but with plenty of time each evening to relax and reflect on the myriad experiences of the day. Highlights were many...the balcony walk in the canyon, (you do need to be fit for this and not put off by the drops), the desert camp and sunset, the ferry experience to the island, the turtle burying its eggs and going back to the sea, the walk/swim to the hidden waterfall...but loads more too. We stayed a final night back at the guest house before moving on again which was a great way to finish and to sort out our luggage, some we had left there. Chris then dropped us off at the next stop Thanks to Yousuf, Chris, Rosemary for the best trip ever we have now decided...Definitely recommended for any type of trip in Oman to get the expertise of this team.

NomadTours planned and then provided guide for our fabulous introduction to Oman. This was an overnight excursion as we were short of time but it was superb. Our guide was a young man with tremendous enthusiasm and energy. We did things we did not even anticipate (we were surprised at our abilities)! We would recommend this tour group to anyone who wishes to go off the beaten tourist trail and experience something more personalized and uniquely tailored. Thanks to Nomad for a great time.

We did a full day trip with a fantastic guide - Assad and went to YITI BEACH, WADI DAYQAH DAM, WADI ARBEIEEN and the BIMMAH SINK HOLE including a lunch and plenty of information about the area and history along the way.
Picked up and dropped off at our hotel and received great customer service from everyone at Nomads.

We needed to find a way of getting from The Shangri-La Hotel in Muscat to The Anantara Hotel near Nizwa and to see something of Oman on the way. Nomad Tours came up trumps. Chris, the owner, picked us up on time and we had a very informative drive via old villages and Nizwa to the Anantara. The return journey was just as good. Delicious Sandwiches, fruit and drink was provided. I can't praise Nomad Tours high enough
