Stayed here for three nights during our tour across Bali to explore the area around Ubud.

We had a gorgeous villa on the “first row” below the pool area, in walking distance to the lobby (which we really appreciated).
The view was gorgeous. Waking up to the jungle panorama was simply spectacular.
The villa itself is designed with a lot of taste, and I was particularly impressed by the bathroom which was very spacious and included a bath featuring the same gorgeous view. Loved the clove candles for our romantic flower bath ❤️
Speaking of flowers - I adored the daily frangipani arrangement and the flowers placed in the rooms.
The infinity pool at our villa was very nice, clean and of adequate size. The water was too cold for us, however (despite it being August, we had a bit of rain and morning fog with 22 degrees).
No noise disturbance by the rafting that some reviewers mention, we had only once a helicopter passing over in the morning which I hope will not be an attraction that will increase over time in this area.

Service was friendly and smiling and 90% of the time very efficient. We have not experienced any irritations about staff enquiring to much about our plans or trying to sell activities. Our butler did ask, but I am convinced they do it to guarantee they service the room while the guest is out.

Expecting a full breakfast buffet (it is à la carte, choice between 3 sets), we were initially a bit disappointed by the breakfast selection offered at the restaurant at the pool restaurant (which could be more charming). I would advise guests to enjoy their breakfast at their villa, which is wonderful.

The restaurant is good, we enjoyed dinner there twice. Staff is very friendly, but for a hotel of this class feels a bit inexperienced (some mix-ups still/sparkling water, on the slow side for drinks + espresso, cocktails a bit weak).

We also used their spa for a massage. The Balinese one I had was excellent, very very good technique and perfect rhythm, truly relaxing.
It was a bit chilly at the semi-al fresco spa room though. A cup of tea after the massage was not offered, which was a bit weird.

We wholly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking forward to cocooning up in their villa with their loved one, well away from the masses of tourists in Ubud. The villas and their view onto the jungle panorama are simply gorgeous. While ours was very private, it is true that we had a view into other peoples pools, so you should check with the hotel if you require absolute privacy.

Want to become perfect? Put heating in the pools (private + big one), offer treatments inside when it’s chilly outside and don’t immediately send your spa guests on their way after treatment. I would also have preferred not to be told to shower immediately after the massage.
At the restaurant, tune down the music and invest in a brush up training for your staff to make bring them up to speed to a 5 star hotel. Also both restaurants and the bar feel spartan in terms of decoration, in particular if there is not many guests around (which was the case on 2 out of 3 nights), maybe add some plants?
I realize this is cherry picking, but I am providing extensive feedback as I feel this resort in this wonderful setting is aiming very high, and has very dedicated staff striving for the best.

Thank you to the whole team, you made us feel very much at home and we wish you the very best!

Puri Wulandari is the hotel that uses nature to make you feel in paradise, but the hotel isn't because of lack of details.
The rooms are individual villa's. What people call a swimming pool is a small pool to stand in. The view on the woods is spectacular, but you have the entire day the noise of trees being cut by wood workers and the screams of people rafting in the river. During the night you can enjoy the many airplanes passing over Bali. The big pool is at the breakfast area and not very enjoyable. It disturbs your breakfast if someone is stripping to go in the pool and you need to be very self-centered to do this in front of 10 to 12 tables enjoying their eggs.
Overall, the villa's don't really give privacy. Your bathroom gives a clear view to the neighbors and there is a stairs for the hotel people running next to the bathroom windows that you can not cover. So if you like to expose yourself, this is the place to be.
The toilets were leaking in our bathroom and we had two or three times the visit of a big rat in our room.
We only had breakfast at the hotel which was great, but every day the same. We went out for dinner. Needed to take the hotel taxi that is twice as expensive and do not give receipts. Taxi from city to hotel is always half the price.
We tried to talk to manager about the rats but he doesn't speak English.
I think the biggest issue with this hotel is that you pay a huge, non local price and don't get the service for it. They are just not capable of understanding what real service is, despite that the people are very kind and helpful.
If you like to expose yourself to hotel guests and to rats, this is a great place to stay...

I just came back to staying here for a week with my husband and 2 daughters (aged 6 and 10). This is a beautiful resort where you will stay in your own Villa, with your own pool, and outside sitting area. The views are stunning and is in great distance from a lot of the activities in Ubud.

The staff is amazing. They clean your room so many times through out the day, they ensure you are accomodated to do all the activities in Ubud.

I used the spa which you can get amazing deals on.

Room Tip: try to get as highest possible
