We stayed for one night and thought we'd found heaven! Alain and Isabelle were the perfect hosts and you felt like honoured guests in their beautiful home. The swimming pool area was a highlight as well as the expansive grounds. The house is elegantly appointed and we enjoyed eating dinner out on the terrace after a drink on the lawn. We enjoyed eating with the other guests (who were all English that night!) The next morning was a bit mizzly so we had a delicious breakfast together in the wood panelled dining room. Our room was called Aurelie and was perfect, definitely recommended. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Room tip: Aurelie recommended

We stopped over night on our trip down to Provence. What a glorious spot this is - the most beautiful of houses set amidst wonderful grounds, in the heart of the French countryside.

Alain, our host, was most welcoming. He speaks excellent English having travelled a good deal in his business life. Our room was in the roof and delightful - a beamed ceiling, lots of space and a super en suite bathroom. Our breakfast the next morning was served in a stunning dining room where we met some fellow travllers who were returning to this B & B en their way home as they loved it so much after their first stay.

We would highly recommend this quality B & B, where the welcome is warm and the house has the feel of a much loved family home. A very special spot.

We had a superb 3 night stay at La Louviere earlier this year in May. As you enter the gates to this beautiful retreat - you can't quite believe how gorgeous it is! When we visited in May unfortunately we had mainly rain - but that didn't detract from the stunning surrounds. Extensive gardens with a lake and a tiny tea house - how quaint.

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 year old son - and we really didn't want to leave. We were met with a warm welcome from the hosts Isabelle and Alain. The house as another TripAdvisor review says - is definitely "like stepping into a page from House and Garden magazine". Even though the interior was opulent and beautiful - we luckily never felt that our son was unwelcome with his grassy boots and messy hands - as Isabelle and Alain have grandchildren and so are quite used to little ones running about. Isabelle kindly heated my son's dinner each evening and brought out a huge box of lego to amuse him. Our room was delightful with plenty of space for a cot - the only thing that would have made our stay a little easier would have been perhaps a kettle and a mini fridge in our room. It wasn't too much of a chore but we had to keep running out into the rain to grab our son's milk etc from the outside kitchen/fridge.

We had the most relaxing stay here and what really made it for us - was that we could put our so to bed and then go and dine downstairs in the beautiful lounge. The baby monitor's range could reach the ground floor and so we could enjoy a delicious three course dinner that Isabelle had prepared using produce from her garden.

Alain provided plenty of inspiration for days out and local places to eat - we would highly recommend the nearby village of Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei. A very pretty little village where we had one of the best lunches of our entire trip in a lovely restaurant called le ptit caboulot ....the food was fabulous and the owner was friendly and welcoming of our son.

Another thing to mention is - the stunning breakfasts that we had each day at La Louviere.... homemade compote and cakes - yum!

Overall we had a fantastic stay - we will definitely return - hopefully when the sun is shining and we can make use of the pool!

Many thanks

We stayed just one night at La Louviere to break up a journey to the Vendée. It's a beautiful property, immaculately furnished and the hosts are very welcoming. We travelled with three children across two families. Children are well accommodated with an early tea and lots to see and do in the grounds, but it is a tranquil place so you may feel the need to hush them up at times, particularly as the pool is irresistible. Dinner was delicious and a real reward in between long drives. We would go back as it's a great option for a luxurious stopover.

Everything about this place is wonderful and we wished we had had longer (we just stopped off for one night on way down south). The house is beautiful, set in stunning countryside. The pool is small but heated (which my husband particularly appreciated) and set in a lovely walled garden. The rest of the gardens are stunning- with a lake, roses, lots of lovely areas and loungers etc. The house looks like a magazine shoot for rural France, and our room and bathroom were well furnished and comfortable. Dinner in the garden was delicious (and it was really nice to eat with other guests) and breakfast was one of the nicest I've ever had. This place is special, comfortable, boutique and blessed with delightful hosts. Thank you and we will be back!
