I was pleasantly surprised and pleased on the manner in which my daughter and I were accommodated after a bit of a bumpy start. Sometimes it is far better to go on with the positive outcome.
I will begin by saying this is not a fancy resort if that is what you are looking for. No, this is a lovely little place located on the northwest corner of Moorea, conveniently located to lovely shops and restaurants. The bungalows are comfortable and spacious, with small refrigerator, a stove top plate, dishes, sink. The bathroom had double sinks and shower that were adorned with flowers upon arrival. The grounds are a garden atmosphere of tall palms and beautiful flowering bushes and a nice pool. There are several roosters about that we found amusing and adding to the charm. The hotel restaurant, The Sunset Grill, sits above the lagoon with lovely open views and a colorful atmosphere. The food served was very good as were the drinks. One can also check out towels and snorkeling gear here. The beach was to the back of the grounds on the lagoon and access to some decent places to snorkel. There are lots of colorful fish to see but unfortunately, the reef are sick. Jasmine and Michael at the front desk are very kind and helpful in suggestions to getting about. One of the really nice aspects of this stay was that one can check out and leave your bags in the hotel and go about with a hike or excursion and be able to come back, shower and change. I would come back to Hibiscus again!

I did plenty of research before booking here and this hotel ticked some very important boxes for the price it charges.
For example, many comparable properties don’t have a swimming pool or air conditioned rooms and are not very close to shops and restaurants. Hotel Hibiscus is very close to a nice shopping area with restaurants and grocery stores that enable you to do some self-catering.
The staff is friendly and the small size of the establishment means service is personal and responsive.

Air conditioning is wonderful when it’s hot and humid and being able to swim in the late afternoon in the pool was very convenient.

Just remember to apply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant liberally when on Moorea!

Merci beaucoup Nathalie and staff!

This hotel is located in a premium location (beach, sunset, restaurants nearby) with very nice surrounding natural settings, yet, that is about it. Bungalows are worn out, with cheap furniture; only one fan per bungalow which is not potent enough to cope with the heat. The hotel is in front of the beach and yet no beach chairs available (only towels and snorkels). The room cleaning service is mediocre and provided barely a small tablet of soap and one mini-container of shampoo. Cherry on top is the access to the -again- highly worn out kayaks (for a fee, in this place of course!) which is limited to a "business hours" schedule, when the next door (way better and prettier) hotel offers it to its guests at ANY TIME and at no cost. It seems that this hotel was built, once upon a time, with love and care but all that has evaporated over time and the current administration does not even care to bother. We stayed because it was the only available place that we could find when decided to go to Moorea, but we will definitely NOT come back.

We always come here for dinner when we are in Moorea. The restaurant is above the water in a deck. It's lovely! The chefs seem to change regularly, but the pizza last week was the best w have ever had. We may even get the ferry across just for a pizza!! Well done Hotel Hibiscus. The renovated restaurant is lacking some bright Polynesian materials, but it is clean and the service excellent.

The location and the grounds are perfect. No air conditioning but the bungalows are very well ventilated with a high ceiling. Lots to do in the area. Kitchen could use some more basic utensils like corkscrews, salt and pepper etc.

Room tip: Rooms in the actual hotel have air conditioning but bungalows are more private and authentic,
