Especially when it's snowing, you enjoy more! Everywhere looks so cool! You need time to visit all the rooms and floors.

We stayed three nights in one of the four charming rooms. Three are fairly similar. The tower room is unique with the bed in the round tower. We chose one of the other rooms because of wanting a window with a view. It was quiet at night and we slept well. The food is outstanding; breakfast is included and delicious. The castle is clean, beautifully restored, very large and provides a lot of fun for exploring. The staff speak English, and were exceedingly pleasant and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and plenty of walking opportunities. Definitely recommmend for any age though two flights of stairs to rooms.

We stayed here for one night during a 10 day tour of Estonia. Alatskivi Castle was booked for us by our travel agent (Daina at the excellent Baltic Travel Company, highly recommended) so we didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be a highly original and enjoyable stay, made even more interesting by the coincidence of a Swing Dance weekend being held there! Other reviewers have described the wonderful architecture and historical significance of the property. I'd like to draw attention to the service provided by the manager, Sven, and his team. As well as being efficient, this was definitely the friendliest place we stayed in Estonia. We would love to return during the winter months to see the castle grounds clothed in snow and take part in the icefishing and other activities. A highlight of our holiday.
