Called into the Royal’s beer garden on a sunny Saturday afternoon for some lunch and drinks. Nice big space in central seafront/town position. You have to wait at your table for service and at first couldn’t attract the attention of the waiting staff. They did clock us though and then there was no problem with ordering. Several different staff served us and they were all friendly and efficient. The lady with black hair and arm in a cast was particularly great, nothing too much trouble. Not had food at the Royal for years but the choice was good for lunch. We ordered some of the ‘small plate tapas’ style dishes and these were absolutely delicious. Would definitely pop back to enjoy the weather and food over the summer.

We wasn’t meant to be staying at the royal hotel as we had originally booked to stay at the Grand Atlantic Hotel. However, when we arrived we were told the hotel was closed. I called round and the royal hotel were amazing and accommodated us or we’d have had to go home.

The Royal Hotel accommodated us and went above and beyond to make sure we had somewhere to stay. The first night we stayed in a family room and then was moved to the Prince William room. The room was lovely and spacious, the shower was massive and was really clean.

We had breakfast every day at the hotel and it was amazing and the portions were huge. We also had dinner at the restaurant for 2 nights. The meals were fab, huge portions and the 2 male members of staff who served and took orders were amazing and were really accommodating. The food was amazing quality for the price and really impressed us.

The staff were fab and the hotel was extremely clean and the free parking was an added bonus. I would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: Parking can be really busy so get there early to avoid disappointment.

Booked a 3 night break to help my husband recover from long term effects of COVID.
Given the Princess Catherine room, which was decorated nicely.
View from filthy dirty windows was a car park with lines of hotel washing drying. Back of the car park was full of old doors, chairs, furniture and fittings being got rid of.
Also a view of the back of the hotels metal fire escape stairs, black bag bin rubbish store, bottle bins - where staff were in and out of it all hours of the day/night making noise.
At night the security man triggered flood light sensor lights whilst pegging out lines of washing, staff triggered flood light rubbish store lights all night long and tipping endless amounts of bottles into bottle bins. The noise/light disturbance went on all night long.
The green neon fire sign lit up the room all night long and made it difficult to sleep.
Once the bath was filled there was no way to drain it and took all night to eventually drain on its own. The mattress was not very comfortable.
By the end of the 3 nights, we were glad to be going home.

Lovely sunny day so what could be nicer than having a rest and a drink in what is advertised as 'the largest beer garden in Weston (probably)'. The large lawn with plenty of space between tables was very attractive in these days when we are still being careful. After more than half an hour we gave up and left. No one had come to take our order despite being asked to - and saying they would.

The Royal hotel has been in Weston for many years & went but downhill at one stage. Stayed here for the first time in a while last year & again the end of May. Have been really impressed. Check in friendly, rooms clean, big bathroom. Not done breakfast as do room only. In a great location in middle of Weston ( bear in mind it is opposite a couple of busy late bars). Big bonus is free parking , great help on a busy bank holiday weekend. Looking forward to my stay for another night at end of July.
