Had Sunday lunch take away on Mother’s Day( roast beef); absolutely delicious and as good as cooked at home.Prepared and presented with care and very tasty. Not sure what a take away Sunday lunch would turn as but was first class and excellent value.
An excellent traditional pub serving good food at good value prices.

The blacksmiths could be amazing. The atmosphere is always warming and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Not to mention a fantastic array of drinks for your keen drinkers.

However, the food is quite frankly poor.

Most country pubs nail homemade chunky chips, it’s a basic expectation among the fine dining scene. However, the chips at the blacksmiths are straight from the ‘freshest’ of bags, lacking flavour and ultimately taste. One could only describe them as the type you would receive at a school canteen or either a “little chef” just off the M1.

I would be pretty confident in stating that most of the food at the blacksmiths is microwaved to order and not as fresh as you might expect.

The prices at the balcksmiths are quite low in relation to other pubs but the food doesn’t justify the prices.

If you are wanting a quick, average meal in a lovely country pub with a great atmosphere, then go to the balcksmiths.

If you are looking for higher quality food then travel elsewhere.

What a fabulous evening, despite Covid restrictions. The owner and his staff could not have been friendlier, and the food was generous and so tasty. Loved the little fried macaroni starter, and the desserts were simply divine. Wish we lived nearby...we’d be regulars!

Just what you need this cold wet winter. A cosy traditional pub serving amazing food, so much choice too. All cooked fresh and served piping hot. Good choice of drinks real ales wines and spirits. Fast efficient friendly service and excellent value for very generous portions. Thank you see you next time.
