The Robin Hood Inn is situated about 3 miles outside Macclesfield along the B5470

We called in for a meal as we were passing, it was midday and relatively quiet.
The Pub is pleasantly laid out and decorated tastefully, outside ( weather permitting ) there is a raised decking area for enjoying the view.
This place is popular with walkers
Staff friendly and genuine, meals reasonably priced and very good.
I had a simple home made cheese & onion pie with chips, which was very tasty with good pastry, and cooked in an OVEN, not dinged in a microwave.

Experiences of any given Pub can vary with time of day, and how busy it is, but I can't envisage it being greatly different than our visit.

We stayed here for a one night stopover, so as to do some walking. We had an excellent stay. The cottage room was well equipped and cosy. After the walk, it was fun having a pint on the new decking, and we had dinner and breakfast in the pub - the food was excellent. We found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

What a beautiful location and pub restaurant. Chilling on the decking with a cold beer on a sunny evening with breathless views. Comfy beds worm room made a good night sleep. Thank you to the staff and owners for a friendly welcome stay. I will be back.

A group of us were going to a school reunion in Macclesfield and chose to stay at the Robin Hood Inn, Rainow. It was a great find.
The welcome was genuine and very friendly. The staff couldn't do enough to help, including offering us a lift in their own car when we were having trouble in getting a taxi. The rooms were spotlessly clean, well stocked with soft towels and comfy beds. The room was as warm as the welcome. Showers were efficient and a range of shower toiletries were provided. The bar was delightful. Very traditional and with lovely log fires. The service was good in the bar in the evening. We had breakfast, which gave us a wide choice of cooked breakfasts or cereals and toast. It was a good choice to stay for breakfast. We had an evening meal there and chose from the range of pub food available. The veggie choice of mushroom stroganoff was very good.
All in all I couldn't fault the service and the welcome. The staff were approachable and friendly and seemed to be willing to do anything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We would go back there without hesitation.
