Great Night at a Birthday party. Room OK. Got asked what time we wanted breakfast between 8 and 11 .We said 10. Went to pub at 10 couldn't get in all doors locked. Eventually landlord opened door said didn't know where chef was. Went in no drink offered and then he suggested he knock £10 off bill so £55 instead of £65 and we could go to Tescos for breakfast. Would we lock our rooms and put keys through front door letter box!

Room tip: Stay at Common Barn or Harrop Fold.

We stayed at the Robin Hood for an overnight get away.
The surrounding area is beautiful, with some lovely walks.
The pub is rustic and cosy with open fires and comfy chairs. It is what you would expect for a ramblers pub.
The bedrooms are in the converted barn opposite, 4 in all over two floors. We stayed in room 1. A clean and cosy double bed, hanging space for clothes, small TV and an en-suit. Perfect for our needs!
The £45 offer for bed and breakfast was more than reasonable and breakfast was good!
Food generally was excellent and very reasonably priced. We had 3 meals in all and all were good quality pub meals.
However, what made this review 5 star was the new landlord Jim. His attention to his customers was second to none. I have been in 5 star accommodation and treated less than satisfactorily. Jim offered a very personal service, bringing drinks to the table, even though the pub was busy. He treated all his customers like old regulars and really made the difference! We will return!

We didn't stay but I imagine a stay would be most enjoyable. We had Saturday lunch and found the food quality and quantity above average. The mushroom hotpot was especially welcome as the veggie dish as it was very tasty and something different. The host, Jim, is very welcoming. Little things like a decent sized pot of mayonnaise instead of a thimbleful make all the difference. Will definitely make the effort to go again when in the area.

Travelling up to the Peaks for some walking, this was a lucky find. A warm welcome, good food, warm and cosy pub for a drink at the end of the day, comfortable room (also warm!), friendly helpful staff, great value, we were very glad we picked the Robin Hood Inn.

Travelling from Sandbach to Bollington up the Macclesfield Canal we stopped at Bridge No 61 and walked up to the Robin Hood Pub for a meal. Arrived just before 5.00 p.m. so were offered the 2 meals for £10.00 deal. We both opted for the Chicken Tikka Massala which came with Rice, Nan Bread, a Poppodom and Mango Chutney. Good size portions, but unfortunately the chicken was still cold. However, quickly sorted out and returned piping hot and very tasty. Cosy pub, with fire burning for ambiance.
