“Great house for extended family”
Reviewed 18 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Park View. It's a very big house. It says it sleeps eight, but there were actually 9 beds when we arrived - there was an extra single bed in the upstairs double in the main house (though it wasn't actually made up). There's also what looks to be a convertible sofa in the conservatory - though it would probably only be a comfortable sleeping there during the summer (it was too cold in March when we were there).

The house is perfect for extended families such as ours - there were several different 'zones' within the house if you wanted to chill out separately - including lounge in the annex, and tv/ sofa in the upstairs double of the main house. However, the communal lounge/dining/kitchen was big enough to accommodate everyone together as well. Having the separate kitchen in the annex meant there was plenty of fridge space. And, despite being quite a small road, there is off street parking for at least 4 cars - maybe 5 if you squeeze. The fast internet and Sky TV were appreciated too. The kitchen was well equipped, and had everything we need, but could probably do with an 'edit' to remove equipment that no longer works or just takes up space.

There is a park directly opposite the house - perfect for both younger and older children, and lots of great dog walks starting from just outside your door. The Budgens in Midhurst is pretty big, and there's a small Tescos in town too.

The house was clean and tidy, but not 'pristine' (which is actually probably what you want if you are bringing small children or dogs!) Our arrival was a bit let down a little bit by incomplete house keeping - we did not have enough towels in the house, and some of the beds were not made up, but the owners were very quick to remedy this when we called them. It sounded like this was due to the regular manager being on holiday so probably not a regular occurrence. The information supplied with the house was a little sparse - it was not clear beforehand whether we should bring things like dishwasher tabs or toilet paper, and supplies provided were low. There could be better instructions on how to work the heating (though we worked it fine - it wasn't hard).

One thing that were weren't made aware of before our stay is that next door is actually a construction site, with a new house halfway built. This didn't bother us that much as we were there over Easter weekend, and no work was being undertaken, however there was at least one early start (~7 am) later in the week, and the construction site is directly outside the annex, where the noise would probably be the worst (by that time there was nobody staying in the annex). The house is only half built, so I think this will be an issue for some months.

“Park View - Stepping Over the Threshold”
Reviewed 12 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

As we stepped over the threshold we were greeted by a warm and pleasant ambience in this lovely bungalow/cottage in the heart of Midhurst.
The accomodation provides well furnished, ample space for family and friends
The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of utensils, cuttlery & crockery to rustle up wholesome fare.
The bedrooms are comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms with very good shower facilities.
We did not use the adjacent annexe, but it of equal standard to the rest of the home.

The property is ideally located in a rural location opposite an excellent park (which is quiet and well maintained) and treks for walkers, but is also close to Midhurst town centre and a short distance by car from Petersfield and arterial routes through Sussex, Surrey & Hampshire.

All in all we had a very happy time at Park View and highly recommend it to others.

Footnote: Sufferring from jet lag, I got up early one morning and looked out of the loft roof light to see x2 foxes with bushy tails dashing across the garden to the rear of the property, it was a wonderful sight to start the day on a still, foggy autumnal morning in the beautiful county of West Sussex.

“So good we didn't want to go home!!!”

We booked Park View as a base for five days before, during and after our daughter's wedding in the Tithe barn, Petersfield. We were approx. 15 minutes away from the venue by car.
The house is on a single lane, opposite a very attractive park. It was quiet, with very little traffic.
First impressions........VERY clean and VERY large.
We used the main house and the annex to house our large family. The annex has a double bedroom with en-suite shower, and an open kitchen / living area with comfortable seating.
The main house has a very large open spaced living, dining and kitchen area. There is a large fridge and freezer and a dishwasher.
The downstairs double bedroom is enormous, with big wardrobes and en-suite shower. patio doors lead onto a large lawned area. The downstairs small bedroom has two dingle beds with a bathroom opposite with an over-bath shower.
Upstairs there is a large bedroom with a double bed and a three-quarter bed and large television. patio doors look out over the garden. There is a separate shower room next door.
There is also a conservatory with patio doors leading to an outside patio area with chimera and the lawned area of the garden.
There is adequate tarmac parking for five cars..
The view from the front of the house is directly over the adjoining park, with a children's play area.....please note that the children did not disturb us in any way. The park has very pleasant walks around it as well as seats.
A 15 minute walk takes you into Midhurst where there are plenty of places to eat.
We had visitors over the weekend and they were equally impressed with the house
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would very much like to return in the future.
