Everyone giggles and thinks how boring when we say we went here, but that's their loss.
What a fantastic little hidden gem. There is an audio tour, needs a little tweaking so you know what room to be in (yes there are more than one), but they mentioned they plan to do this anyway.
There are stars and celebrities offerings, educational plaques etc, models, photos, and of course mowers galore.
Some gory facts, caught my interest, and details of local events such as lawn mower races!! No not running behind a hover mower but propped sit on, engine and fly like the wind round a track exciting races!! Sadly our visit mistimed so we missed seeing this.
The staff are super friendly and informative, didn't meet the owner, maybe next time
Plus your paying to keep a little bit of history alive, that's got to be a good thing.

This was a gift for my husband from our children. We had a short stay in southport and were looking for places to visit.
Brian gave us a tour of the museum, he gave us lots of information about all the different lawnmowers, didn't know there was so many. We were not rushed around, we were able to ask questions and answers were given. We were able to take photos of many interesting facts. Brian was a very knowledgeable man about his lawnmowers. He had passion in what he was doing. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
We recommend this experience to anybody, you don't have to be a lawnmower lover.

Great museum. Shame about the sercuity staff being very rude. I know they have a job to do and it was hot and busy on Sunday 1st July. But! People are not cattle! You would not even treat cattle like it.
What will visitors from other countries think of how they got treated. Shame on you!

What a treat, went to Southport with the family and decided to give this a try and it was so quaint and interesting. Such a lovely little place and something you can tick off your bucket list.
