Balnabruich is a warm, spacious and very clean self catering cottage. Situated in Inveruglas, within a small group of similar cottages with easy access to Kingussie. Lovely views. Large garden and wildlife frequently seen. Cycling from the doorstep with tracks in every direction. We were a part of 5, 3 adults and 2 children. Blessed with beautiful weather. The best we have stayed in and would definitely return.
Having stayed in many other self catering dog friendly cottages in the area over the last 20 years this had a lot to live up to. We were certainly not disappointed and Balnabruaich has now taken the No 1 slot for us. It is a home from home, couldn't want anything more from a holiday cottage (with the exception of a covered hot tub with a waiter serving champagne!!!). The garden is great and secure for the dog. Red squirrels just outside the kitchen window. The fire is amazing, the views are fantastic and the whole area is so peaceful. However, Kinguissie is only a 5 minute drive should you need to top up on the essentials such as wine or champagne. A wide range of walks direct from the cottage - no need to always use the car. Well worth the 620 miles for us to get there. We've already booked for two separate weeks next year.
Had a great week at Balnabruaich which is a very well equipped and comfortable holiday home. Lovely views from lounge and the peace and quiet is awesome. Loads of wildlife in the garden which the grandchildren loved to see. Situated in a superb location for walking or cycling and easy access to Kingussie and Aviemore. Will definitely return and have no problem recommending the property to family and friends. Thanks for your hospitality.
Balnabruaich is located not far from Kingussie, set nestled on the edge of a magnificent pine forest. The surroundings are peaceful and relaxing away from the business of the main tourist spots. Yet you are still in easy reach of all the main attractions. Including the Highland Wildlife Park, Highland Folk Museum, Landmark Adventure Park, Loch Morlich, Loch An Eilien, The Strathspey Railway and The Cairngorm Mountain all well worth a visit! The house has everything anyone looking to self cater would need, there is a very well equipped kitchen. We loved the views from every window, there was wildlife everywhere. We appreciated the binoculars found sitting at the lounge window. The garden is super for children and dogs to enjoy. Everyone in our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we are intending to visit again in the future. We saw red squirrels in the garden every day and also spotted a roe deer buck, crested tits, pheasant and grouse in the garden! I loved watching hares play in the surrounding farmland.
Our third visit to Balnabruaich which is just a few minutes drive from Kingussie, it is a very comfortable and well equipped holiday cottage situated in a very quiet location, adjacent to the Badenoch Way. It has good views looking over Insh Marshes (RSPB Reserve) to the Monadhliath Mountains. Plenty of wildlife can be seen from the cottage, Pine Marten if you are lucky. Several walks close by and many more in the forests nearby. The owners Judy and Jules are very friendly and helpful. We will be returning later in the year and have no hesitation in recommending the cottage for a perfect holiday.
