This was our third visit to the Court Inn in Durham all the visits have been with our three dogs and we have allways been warmly greeted, the food is amazing really good hearty meals and great value. We allways review around the welcome and food but see this is a great pub for just taking time out and having a drink with a great selection of Gins and beer. The pub has allways been clean and tidy. located just away from the high street, its in the middle of a 1 way street behind the police station. Parking can be a bit hit or miss due to just having general street parking.

Visiting for Mother’s Day as wanted to try for a while, table booked for 5pm after having to track three people down before we actually got noted as there which resulted in following people planned to be seated before us untill I corrected them! Got seated at 5:25pm, waiter pointed at table and walked off so we sat at table, not a word from anyone! We waited 5 minutes nobody came back to us with menus or info to get up to Carvery whenever we liked etc, I could see the menus on bar so I got up to get our own to which a lady apologised and said we should have been given them on seating! So atleast somebody acknowledged our presence, looked through menu and sat a further 15 minutes with menus closed and nobody came to take order etc so I had to get up and catch somebody to ask if we could order! By now it’s just gone 6 when we managed to order, food came and it wasn’t the best presented or didn’t taste great either fish batter was unpleasant and very soggy! Safe to say it will be our first and last visit

My lasagne was truly gorgeous with all the trimmings and the apple and blackberry pie was incredible. It was on special and really looked and tasted amazing. My wife had a burger without the bun as requested and really enjoyed it. A burger without a bun has nowhere to hide and this one did not need to hide! Thank you for your good food and most pleasant wine. It was so good, we went back for breakfast the next morning and it was freshly cooked with Bill , who was on duty, being most attentive.
Next time we are in Durham we shall be back.

Court Inn was recommended and surpassed expectations. A pint of draught ale and the Honey topped Belly Pork on mash was huge and really didn't need the side of jacket potato that came with it but everything was so well cooked and delicious that it would have been wrong to leave any.

First time for their Sunday lunch, absolutely lovely, impressed with vegetables 7 veg not including potatoes, roast/boiled & mash.
5 meats to choose from, leg of lamb, Turkey, beef, pork & gammon
I opted for beef & turkey, not dry still moist & gravy was proper gravy with meat juices, not like the manufactured gravy you get in the Toby’s, the Yorkshire puddings were gorgeous.
Homemade & plenty of sauces to compliment the dinner.
We were very impressed & look forward to Christmas Day Lunch.
Which we booked straight after our meal.
