Small little hotel just of the A39. Very good service, received an email a few days before our stay direct from the hotel and the welcome/check in was exceptional. I had to phone to book a travel cot which is my only gripe because you have to pay premium rate for the call (unlike rival Premier Inn where you can tick a box when booking online if you require one, perhaps this is something Travelodge could revise??).

The room was spacious even with a single bed & travel cot in the room and it was all clean & fresh. Bed was comfy, bathroom could probably do with a bit of a refurb in places (plug holes rusty etc) but on the whole was very happy with the room. We were on the ground floor (room 8) and did not hear any noise from the petrol station etc whatsoever. The only noise we did have was from people walking around in the room above but this was not late we were just in bed early because we have young kids. I suppose you could request a 1st floor room if this would concern you.

All in all a very pleasant stay (if only for 1 night but would have been happy to stay longer). It's a shame there isn't a restaurant attached but Sainsburys is very close and there is a KFC if you are desperate!

Like the majority of Travelodge hotels this was ideal as a stop over on a long journey
Over the years I have stayed in many Travelodge hotels and the Barnstaple one provided all I needed a comfortable bed (although for me the pillows are to hard) a warm room a tv and a bath/shower--all at a great price and convenient location

Hotel itself is very pleasant, clean and tidy we were in Room 14 at the back of the hotel and a warm evening when suddenly seemed like band practice started in the industrial estate behind, which went on for 2 ish hours and was very loud even with the window closed.

We stayed here for one night. Made very welcome on reception. Reception area had air con which was good. The room was fresh looking. Loved the carpet. The colourful fleck in carpet made a refreshing change to the usual blue. The bed was really comfortable had a good sleep. Staff were friendly. On the whole we really enjoyed our stay. Would definately stay again
