The restaurant is furnished lovely, good selection of wines and drink.
I ordered the jim bean ribs which were delicious, very tasty which a huge portion of sweet potato- worth the £15!
Gin and tonic cheesecake was presented nicely and tasted lovely, this was £6.
Would recommend.

A booking for 11 friends to celebrate an 80th birthday. Meals had been pre ordered by request. Although a meal was ordered as Gluten free, and the menu states that most dishes could be served gluten free, it was served with pasta. The waitress took it away after we queried it and returned with the meal without the pasta. On being asked what they had replaced the pasta with, were told they had added some salad leaves. The matter was brought to the attention of management and they reduced the bill by £1.75.
There was a total lack of concern, and unless we had queried the pasta, it could well have been eaten as GF pasta, as that was what was pre-ordered. Other meals were not warm enough, and one burger was burnt. All in all a disappointment. I would not recommend the restaurant for lunch.

Although we celebrated our wedding anniversary early by taking a return transatlantic cruise to Canada, we could not miss celebrating the actual big day by booking a table at The Abbey House Hotels Oscar's restaurant. It was many years since I last visited there but it still had that lovely majestic feeling as we walked in the door. A nice touch that an anniversary card was waiting on the table for us! The menu was tempting, but that I already knew about, after having taken a cheeky look at the many tempting things to eat on line. No starters as we were saving ourselves room to eat the desserts!!!! I had the fillet steak and my DH had the ribeye steak. Both were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We thought the electricity was going to cut out on us as it went dark in the dining room for a few split seconds. No, everything was OK and the only thing affected was the lack of music. But believe me, that was a blessing. Celebrating a romantic dinner did not go along well with pop music. That apart we enjoyed our evening along with the yummy desserts that followed our mains. Slightly expensive but well worth it. Staff were friendly and we shall certainly make another return visit. Do book a table, it was a Tuesday night and very busy.

Last nigh we two couples booked for 7.30 we were taken to our table and ordered drinks while checking out the menu. When the drinks arrived we ordered (no starters just main meals ) The service was very slow and the meals arrived by 8.30. We did enjoy the meals although nothing special. We order dessert at about 9.00, when asked if everything was okay with the meals by the server clearing away, my husband said that his pastry was soggy and was not very nice, the server said he would tell the chef. Can you imagine our disgust when at 9.25 still drinking our wine and only 2 minutes from finishing our dessert we were told to move to the lounge as the table was rebooked!! we refused and asked for the bill no allowance was made for the poor dessert.
If this is the normal for a so called 4 star eatery you should be informed when booking. We did wonder what would have happened if we had a starter, perhaps we would have been given a box an told to eat our dessert at home. This is not an inexpensive place to eat and there are many cheaper eateries that give MUCH BETTER SERVICE. SO BEWARE!!
