Laura looked after our every need from buses to room and hearty cooked breakfast eith pots of tea and juices. Great location, walking distance to town and the lake quiet and good beds! Bathroom a little squeezy but plenty of hot water!

Lovely guesthouse, a little updating needed. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff, although no-one there when we needed to check out to say goodbye. Bathroom was very small and not what expected from a 5* Guesthouse but perfectly adequate for what we needed.

Hi,

We recently stayed here last weekend for Birthday. The hotel was lovely, located just out of the town and perfectly placed outside of Bowness on Windermere. The staff were very friendly, the room was lovely as well. Always a bonus to have Fererro Roche placed on the bed to welcome you.

We stayed for three nights we had 3 rooms as travelling with sisters and husbands. The house is in an excellent location for walking to Windermere or Bowness. There is a bar and lounge also which was being used by the guests, we found this a plus point. We got the train from Windermere to Kendal and spent a day there, just over £5 return per person. Also went on a boat trip, we were lucky with the weather. Good shopping in Bowness which is bigger than Windermere. We had rooms 9,10 and 15. 9 and 10 were smaller than 15 which was quite dark as curtains and wallpaper were dark. The rooms were sufficient the only criticism is certainly in room 15 we could have done with plumper pillows. If you wanted more pillows you just needed to ask, nothing was any trouble.None of these had four posters. Breakfast menu was very good, lovely dining room. Yes the place is tired, but the staff more than make up for this they are so friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I have just stayed here for 4 days and were disappointed with our room as we thought it would be five star but it was more like 3 star as the wallpaper in the room was shabby and the bathroom door was really bad it does need to be done up the breakfast was nice and the staff were lovely.
