Nice place a bit off the hidden path; food was good and service friendly. It was busy which is always a good sign and is the best Indian in the area.

We had read great reviews about Shahib's and were looking for a good place for a curry, and so we decided to give it a go.

The restaurant was easy to find, right on the main street. We checked out the menus located outside the main door and it all looked lovely, so we went up the stairs to the restaurant. We were immediately greeted by a friendly staff member and shown to our table. The restaurant was quiet, but it was still early in the evening, at around 6.30pm.

We made our drinks order after a few minutes and were left to look at the menu. After a short while, our drinks came, and then we made our food order. We went for a chicken curry and one of the 'Vegetarian Specialities', plus one rice and one garlic naan to share. The food came after about 15 minutes, which was very reasonable. The curries were each in their own little metal dish to keep them warm, and the naan and rice looked delicious and plenty to share between two! We tucked in and it was a really lovely meal. We were not pestered by staff or rushed at all, and it was a very welcoming and cosy restaurant. We took our time to enjoy the food and were thoroughly impressed. Very tasty, just the right amount, and great to have lots of Vegetarian options.

When we were finished, we were offered desserts and coffees. We weren't sure if we would like the traditional Indian dessert available that evening (the other option was ice cream), 'Gulab Jamun', and so the waiter very kindly brought some out for us to try. It was delicious and very kind of him to enlighten us about this lovely traditional dish.

When the bill came, it was very good value, just over £30 for two curries, 2 sides and 2 soft drinks. We were very pleased to give a tip, as the food was great and the staff were polite, helpful and welcoming. We would definitely come again if in the area.

We are very glad we decided to follow the advice of the good online reviews for Shahib's, as the meal was just what we needed. Fantastic and would highly recommend. Compliments to the chef and the waiting staff :)

Called into shahib's whilst staying at the nearby Fallbarrow caravan park. It's only a short five minute walk.
Ordered a madras strength chicken rogan josh and a lamb korma together with a coconut pilau and peshwari naan.
I was met by friendly staff and only had to wait ten minutes or so for my order. Price was just short of £20 which is about the norm these days.
This is my second visit here and I shall be coming back !
Both dishes were delicious - I got a sweat on from the madras lol. The rice was cooked nicely and the naan was tasty.
I was even given a half lager whilst I waited !

All in all I've no complaints and look forwards to next years visit
Thanks very much
