Called in for a bite to eat and a drink while we watched the England/Croatia match. Food dlivered and served in good time and was of fair quality, however I'm not a fan of frozen chips as they always seem dry. Atmosphere good and was made to feel welcome

Thank Alicyn K

This Is a great spot for dinner. We had the Sunday special 2 or 3 course dinners and it was reasonably priced and really good!! Scottish Salmon filet was excellent and the appetizers of mushrooms or humus/olives/ bread were really good too.

I don’t understand the negatives and we’ve walked the entire Hadrian’s Wall, stayed in Sunderland and now the Lake District and this is really nice!!

Thank trdayma

This was our second visit to this restaurant and once again we had a fantastic meal. Don’t understand some of the reviews about the staff as the lady who served us on both occasions was lovely and friendly. The chef who I think is also the landlord came out and chatted to us about our meal. The food was lovely, hot and very tasty. It’s good value for money and well worth a visit. We will definitely go back when we next visit the lakes.

Avoid unless you want an unwelcoming, miserable landord to serve you. Seemed more interested in the fact that Argentina had just scored a goal than passing any time at all with us. There was only ourselves and another old gent in the bar, so he was hardly over whelmed. I didn't feel welcome. We went upstairs and sat outside, but drank up quickly as the smell of greasy food and noisy traffic put us off. We were looking to eat there but the smell of grease in the restaurant did put us off and we moved on.
