“Cosy, Comfy and Clean Cottage”

Our three night stay at 'Dougals Glen' was fab. It is a great base for exploring Royal Deeside. The cottage had everything that you need for a comfortable stay and is nice and cosy. Firewood, lighters and matches were all supplied by Lynn & Murdo, who were great hosts. They even left a wee bag of gravy bones for our Gordon Setter and some nice shortbread for their human guests. What more can you ask for???

“Excellent”

Lovely comfortable well equipped chalet with everything you need for self catering. Very dog friendly. Murdo and Lynne were lovely and made us very welcome. Local amenities good, really nice Indian Restaurant and Takeway. On the bus route which is handy if you want to go our for a meal and a glass of wine. I have passed on details to colleagues which I would not normally do but I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely chalet.

“Lovely country lodging.”
Reviewed 13 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We were made to feel very welcome here. It is very convenient for the local attractions in Aboyne and along the River Dee. The Deeside cycle track runs right past the door and we would like to return to enjoy the beautiful countryside by bike.

“Ideal pet friendly place”
Reviewed 8 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Really enjoyed our stay which was in the perfect balanced location between the Cairngorms and Deeside. The owners have tastefully set out the chalet with plenty of storage, kitchen facilities and furniture. It was great to be able to bring our dog and he relaxed very quickly in the chalet. We could have comfortably prepared meals in the kitchen but decided to eat out in Aboyne and got a takeaway in Ballater, both within easy reach of Dougal's Glen. Just across the road there is a lovely riverside walk. Will definitely stay here again. When approaching from Aberdeen look out for the signpost for Ivy Cottage.
