“Beautiful cottage, wonderful hosts”
Reviewed 7 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Stayed at Avelin Cottage for 2 nights while visiting the North East. The cottage was perfect for two and the owners very kindly stocked breakfast for us. Location is peaceful but still only a 5 minute drive from the centre of town. Looking forward to visiting again very soon. Many thanks to Linda & David.

“Beautiful cottage for two.”
Reviewed 25 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This is a lovely cottage for 2 people, recently converted and very tastefully appointed. Very comfortable, excellent shower room, huge comfortable bed. Very good WiFi and all appliances. Lovely gardens and ample parking. Just 5mins from Barnard Castle.

“Delightful little cottage and excellent hosts”

We stayed at this little cottage in autumn for a two night break and couldn't have asked for more. The owners are a very warm couple and we were made to feel so welcome. There was a fridge of bacon, eggs fresh orange, homemade jam, bread etc. all the items for a full English!
As well as tea, coffee and milk. The cottage itself is just perfect little place and we are looking forward to visiting again this year.

Lovely, cosy little cottage thoughtfully fitted out for guests. Warm welcome from Linda and David who had laid in not only tea and milk, but bacon and local eggs for breakfast.
