All the tables in the pub were reserved, but we could have it if we vacated it by 1.15. I had the roast beef and found it tough the veg was fresh but a bit rustic the carrots still had the skin on and they were not cut through properly so when you picked one up several came with it, nice Yorkshire puddings but the gravy was a bit thin and not very tasty. My wife had the roast turkey and was enjoying it before what she thought was turkey turned out to be a large piece of sloppy turkey skin

We visited on Friday lunchtime. The snug is dog friendly so we booked for 6 people and Tilly. The menu is extensive. Three of us chose steak and ale pie and the others chose gammon, belly pork and mushroom stroganoff. None of us were disappointed. They were delicious. The pub is off the beaten track but just a few minutes from the centre. We parked on Beverley Westwood, just a few minutes walk away where parking is free for four hours. I would recommend that you check opening in times as it is not open all day. Highly recommend this olde worlde pub. We will definitely visit again. I

We often pop in here for a drink after walking the dog on the Westwood.
The beer is great good and they have some guest ales on if that's your thing.
We have eaten here once and it was good food and reasonably priced.

Love this plave-favourite in Beverley but visited on Sunday and did not know staff and advert outside for new tenants- hope it stays the same. On the plus side, the staff whos erved us were very good. My wife & I decided to have small Sunday Lunch and it was usual standard, so that was a relief. Hopefully nothing much will change but my experience with other establishments is that they usually go downhill but fingers crossed.
