Yet another pleasant meal in the Woolpack.
With 6 of us sat in this very cosy pub for a birthday occasion we all enjoyed ourselves, with help from the menu of course!

We arrived at the Woolpack expecting a warm welcome after reading reviews only to feel the opposite. The reviews read pleasant helpful staff. Our experience was frosty from the start no smiles & no attempt to make us welcome. After getting some drinks we were told when we asked for menu's that there were no tables available & we would have to wait until someone had finished before we could eat ok we thought. We sat drinking but still feeling uncomfortable for a good 3/4 of an hour seeing at least 2 groups of people pay there bills & leave. We continued to try & make eye contact with a member of staff but still nothing. In the end we gave up finished our drinks & went to the Potting Shed instead were we were made to feel much more welcom with a much better atmosphere. I'd avoid the Woolpack as you may be disappointed with there customer service as we were!

We visited the wool pack inn on a Saturday evening. It was busy but we got a table no problem. We are a family of 4 adults and a 3 year old. Everyone loved their meals and deserts! It was hard to choose because the menu is so big and varied and everything sounded and looked delicious. my only downer is we waited a long time between courses which is hard for a 3 year old but the food was worth the wait. My steak was cooked to perfection and when I return I want the lamb shank the smell as it came out the kitchen was amazing

we had been meaning to visit here for some time. there was four of us, we booked a table as we knew tables would be at premium. knowing the mains were large we didn't have a starter. between us we had 2 pies....fabulous! one curry which was spot on and i personally had the mixed grill....even i could not finish it. all was brilliant, clearly all home cooked and prepared on ordering. we did have dessert, one crumble of the day and 2 sticky toffee puddings. once again spot on.

its a very small pub, with an open fire in the corner. the staff are incredibly friendly. they allow dogs too, which is good scene its a stone throw from the weswood. we cannot recommend this place enough, we are off work for 2 weeks now and are thinking of bringing some other family with us, and we will probably pop in when we have a walk through beverley too just for a drink.
