Coleford had vehicle festival and the engine shed was open. We had a lovely visit and we had a drive around in the small carriages behind the steam engine. Lovely time was had by all our family.

A bizarre little museum that I visited with my husband on his 70th birthday. He is a steam enthusiast and loved it. A mixture of steam items, thrown together, in a strange way including a large steam train!! Collected by a gentleman who loved the age of steam and who passed away recently and must have spent a fortune, especially re locating a signal box. It is not a large museum but for any steam enthusiastic probably a must because now the collector has died who knows what might happen in the future to this lovely collection. We spent longer here than I thought because I enjoyed reading the newspaper reports about the family while he browsed and my tutorial in the signal box with a friend of the owner.

What a lovely afternoon spent at this wonderful museum. Full (and I mean full!) of fantastic artefacts - I real insight into local rail history of the area. Our 4 year old train-mad son absolutely loved it, as did our 6 year old. Thanks so much to the wonderful staff who gave us a tour and a chilly ride on the miniature railway. Even though we were frozen through there were tears when we left - a sign of a good time! Thank you and we will recommend to others.
