I just wanted to write to say what a fantastic time we all had last week. I have to be honest we were a little apprehensive before arriving but the domes are fab and they have created something really special. The kids loved it and that made it for us. We met some lovely people, enjoyed making fire, and had a thoroughly good time. I would recommend a visit to the Dome Garden to anyone who fancies a bit of 'Glamping'

Room Tip: We stayed in a simple Dome called 'Bamboo', which was in a great position as you could see across most of the site so the kids could roam free whilst we sat and had a beer. It had plenty of room and a shower. There is a double dome with an extra bedroom but that only has a bath but it still looked really nice. There is also a super-dome with a second floor but I didn't see in that one properly. Jonny who owns the site is really helpful so give him a ring or drop him an email and he will be able to take you through all the options.

This place is genuinely fabulous - my 7 year old was in heaven. The owners and designers have obviously worked hard to create accomdation which is private yet you are still able to be part of the community of kids/adults. The chickens were fab (more would be good to avoid kids queueing for eggs and putting hens under such pressure) the zip wire, pizza night, bonfire, tree house made the holiday. Great balance for us, camping but with pretty lovely bathroom and great use of kitchen microwave for babies bottles. I wish I could kep this place a secret for my bookings next year!!! 100% good. Thank you Jonny and team.

Room Tip: Super dome looked great for large party, not suitable for really little ones.

The dome garden is amazing. Myself and 7 friends enjoyed a relaxing weekend nestled amongst trees, domes and roaming chickens. We quickly got the hang of the wood fired ovens and were extremely impressed with the showers. John (the lovely kind man from the dome garden), gave us a very warm welcome and helped us with any queries. The location of the dome garden is excellent, it is a quick drive to the sculpture trail in the forest, clearwell caves and puzzlewood to name a few. I have two small children and will be returning with them very soon as they will love this place, especially the tree swings and campfire circle.

I stayed with my family, and my sister joined us with hers. We stayed for the only 5 sunny days of the summer and had a wonderful time. I have no idea what we were expecting, we were just won over by the cool photos on the website, and reality did not disappoint.

It is definitely a place where you need to buy into the ethos of what they're trying to achieve. The entire operation works on wood, which you cut and burn to heat everything; food, domes, showers. We all loved it, but if you want a cup of tea on demand at the flick of a kettle, this place might not really be, well, your cup of tea. (But, how good does a cup of tea taste when you have had to work hard to get it? Like no other!) We were fortunate with the weather, as our children spent the entire week running amok in the gardens. With crap weather, it would have been a very different experience, but I guess that's the same with everything.

Jonny, the owner and John, the manager, are excellent hosts, not intrusive but always around in case they are needed. They hosted memorable Pimms and Pizza nights during our stay (Special thanks for Jonny's children for also being excellent hosts!) They have created a holiday experience literally like no other - almost everything on site has been designed uniquely for the Dome Garden.

The local area is beautiful; this was our first time in this part of the world. Symonds Yat, Wye River, Forest cycling trails are all on the doorstep.

You could pay less elsewhere and have a much more conventional holiday, but this place is the stuff of memories that will live long with us and our children.

I do believe, a holiday is what you make it, but the Dome Garden goes along way to providing the best holiday experience. We were astounded by the beauty of the Dome garden and the surrounding area. We went with it already in mind that we would fail to get to grips with fire making and the cooking so planned to eat out, but with a little instruction from Jonny we were soon cooking all our own food including casseroles and roasting potatoes, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being semi self sufficient. the Dome it's self was very clean and spacious and our 2 yr old was completely buzzed by the swinging bed and spent her first night in one. The shower room was very nice and the water once heated was hot for hours, so the whole family could shower. the seating area and garden space was amazing, comfortable and a safe environment. pizza night was a blast we all enjoyed and agreed that they were probably the best pizza's we have ever tasted. The next morning it was fresh bread all around. My preferred part of the holiday was making the fires, collecting the kindling and feeling like a real hunter gatherer, my 2yr old favourite part was by far making friends with the chickens, sharing her leftovers and collecting her fresh egg in the mornings. Having a get entrance leading straight in to the forest of dean was fabulous and made us all feel part of a well kept secure garden. i am well travelled and enjoy both camping and more luxury based holidays, this has been my most favourite break so far, the only regret i do have is the length i wish we had stayed at least 7 days come rain or shine

Room Tip: any room, i'd say, as long us you light the fires and enjoy the experience.
