“Our little getaway for time to relax”
Reviewed 23 August 2011

my partner and i found a little leaflet in Enniskillen Information centre, we had not arranged anywhere to stay that evening. we rang hoping that the farm b&b would have a room free, the lady answered and was so inviting and helpful that we booked to arrive in a couple of hours as we wanted to make good of the sunny weather. when we arrived and drove up the clear drive way with fresh cut grass and well kept garden you can't help but relax and feel peaceful being there. we were greeted by a smiling lady who showed us to the family room as it was all she had left. i couldn' t believe the attention to detail, the bottle of water each we had, the emergency kit in the bathroom filled with little things you always forget. the room was carefully put together to created a homely feel. we were asked what we would like for breakfast and it just blew me away the homemade bread smell that evening made me so excited to try it in the morning. we also had the porridge but it had its own little twist with cinnamon and stewed rhubarb on top with a little pot of cream to make your hips know you are about to be so bad. the experience was so good we will be back for little escapes and my mum and friend have even gone for a little break after i raved about it when i got home. i know they will love it as much as we did. and i would and have recommended it to anyone who would listen, travellers enjoy

Room Tip: recommend the family room even for a spacious place for a couple

From the moment we arrived Bernie (& Max, the dog!) made us feel so welcome greeting us with tea and homemade cookies. The farmhouse is stunning- set in a quiet location and beautifully appointed- just what we wanted! We felt so at home at Abbocurragh. My husband and I stayed in a number of b&bs on our travels around Ireland but can safely say this was our favourite! Breakfast is a treat- homemade breads, granola, fresh eggs and the porridge is delicious with fresh fruit compote! Our only regret was that we hadn't booked for longer.

My friend and i stayed at Abocurragh Farm Guesthouse last weekend and were completely blown away by not only the beautiful house and bedrooms but also by the delicious food. Bernie is a wonderful host and a fabulous cook; she made our stay one of the most enjoyable i have had in such a long time. Her breakfast (i sampled the smoked salmon omlette both mornings) and her homemade breads are amazing. I always use hotels when i am away but i wouldnt even consider one in Enniskillen now after staying with Bernie, she is so welcoming and accommodating. Our room was fab and the bed linen and bathroom were brilliant. Little extras in the bathroom like plasters, Rennies and throat pastilles are so thoughtful as was the lovely bath robes and very comfortable beds. The house is in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views of the local countryside. My friend and I were delighted to find such a wonderful guesthouse at such a cheap price. Dont hesitate to book it you wont be disappointed. We will most definitely be back to see Bernie and Gerry; hopefully very soon. :-)

My 8 year old son and I stayed 3 nights at the Abbocurragh. The service was attentive, without being intrusive, welcoming, and warm. Bernie was always available, and very helpful with suggestions of things to do in the area. The room we had (facing the backyard) was comfortable. You could tell that a lot of thought was put into offering layers for coverings, and more than one option for pillows. The view from the bedroom was of the beautifully landscaped backyard and the scenic mountains beyond. The room had coffee/tea maker, bathrobe, towel warmer, ample drawers and hangers. The location was enough off the beaten path to provide the peace of the countryside but close enough to towns and the city to be convenient. My son played with the dog Max, saw the cows being milked, and visited the chicken coop. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. Everything tasted homemade and farm fresh. The entire house was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated and the surroundings were beautiful and peaceful. The owner Bernie was one of the highlights. She is charming, a joy to talk to, and makes you feel right at home. If we can ever make our way back to Northern Ireland, we would most definitely schedule our trip around being able to stay at the Abbocurragh!
