Had a great weekend at the Green Hotel, the staff were above and beyond with their excellent service. David the waiter is the best!. Hoping to go back soon as the room was very clean and got a lovely surprise by seeing China crisis .

5 stars +. Hotel is full of character. Large rooms. Very clean. Staff and management exceptional. Just spent the weekend here. Cannot recommend highly enough. Food and Service was excellent. Scott has a fabulous team. David in F&B really went all out to ensure we had the best weekend. The hidden gem of this beautiful hotel is the Backstage at the Greens. We were lucky enough to see China Crisis perform.

On arrival we received a warm welcome from reception. Our room very spacious, but there were several issues with it. Both my husband struggled to sleep even with the window open the room was too hot. The carpet was terribly stained, the lamp was broken in a dangerous state. During the night I was woken at 2am as there was water dripping from the ceiling light. Mentioning this to reception the light was promptly replaced and we were to ld the ceiling would be stripped and repaired after our departure.
I did make use of the spa and had a massage. I have had many massages and was highly impressed with the lady who did mine.
We ate in the restaurant on the first evening. The food was very nice indeed. The service was good, friendly and helpful, but we did have to remind them that drinks had been ordered. This was quickly rectified.
Jocks bar was ok, but no atmosphere and to have a coffee and glass of wine was over £10!
Breakfast was plentiful, hot and tasty. Service was good too.
The staff do make the hotel, it certainly could do with an update, or a lick of paint. It certainly wasn't all negative, it would be a hotel I would return to.

We were staying in the Windlestrae hotel across the road and had dinner here. We had haggis for starters followed by venison sausages and mash and fish and chips. All the food was of a high standard and the drinks were also good.
