Stayed at Riverside for 2 nights while attending a wedding at Springkell. Beautifol, quiet location. Heather is a great hostess, taking photos of us on the morning of the wedding. Very clean room with everything we required. Lovely well cooked breakfast with the added attraction of a pheasant feeding outside the window. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Set in a beautiful spot on the banks of the river Annan, this converted corn mill is without doubt the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The rooms are huge, well appointed, with all mod cons (including Wi-Fi), clean and warm, and with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. Guests have their own key, and are free to come and go at any hour; there is ample parking, and stunning views from the river terrace. Hostess Heather is absolutely charming, a fount of local knowledge, helpful, and a wonderful cook to boot: - the breakfast was peerless. There is also a deck house built over the old mill, which guests can use to party if they wish, even in winter, as there is a log fire which they will light on request. I genuinely cannot think of anything more you could possibly want from a B&B. We were blown away, and would give it ten stars on here if we could. Absolutely brilliant.

My Father and I having stayed before were delighted to be able to have a holiday visiting Dumfries and Galloway, using Riverside Mill as a base. The welcome we received was wonderful and we see Heather as a wonderful host. Nothing is too much trouble and the setting is one where you can truly get away from it all without actually being far from the town and indeed the A74(M). This establishment truly enshrines what hospitality should be about, welcoming, friendly, good quality accommodation yet presented in a beautiful natural setting. We were truly able to relax and use this as a base from which to tour, What a delightful place to return to in the evening. The sun rising over the river in the mornings really is something which should be experienced.

We first visited when travelling to the North of Scotland but have returned since. if travelling North/South you should try it out, you will certainly find the short detour from the motorway something which is well worth doing. A real find

Stayed overnight both on our way to and from the Highlands. Lovely B&B in a fantastic location. It was raining on our way north, but the room was lovely and comfortable, and of course breakfast was as good as we remembered. On the way home the weather was glorious. We had our picnic on the deck watching a heron and an otter patrolling his beat. Red squirrels nipped past the window the next morning before breakfast. Lovely. Turned the travelling into part of the holiday!

Room Tip: All the rooms we've stayed in have been lovely

We stayed here for one night on our way south. We had a beautifully presented twin room with a modern walk in shower which was spotlessly clean. The towels were soft and fluffy and good quality toiletries too.
We were warmly greater by Heather who was very helpful in recommending and booking the Townhead Hotel,in Lockerbie for us to have our evening meal in, a good choice!
The breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruit, yogurt, a quality cooked breakfast served with wholemeal toast. It felt special to have our breakfast served on bone china crockery, a fine touch.
It was just unfortunate that we arrived in heavy rain as we would have really enjoyed walking along by the river and trying to spot the otters, kingfishers and red squirrels. Think we will need to return in good weather one day.
Thank you Heather for making us so welcome!
