These gardens were a nice find in the centre of Lytham. You could also call it an oasis of calm with well-tended gardens and sunken areas. Nice variety of Japanese trees too.

The Rose Garden is one of my favourite places in England, if not in the world. Visit early May, when bluebells are in profusion and the first buds are showing; the roses, of all colours, when opened, are a wonderful display. I've often complimented the people who work there. What a pity, the other day, that a young woman not only thought it fit to pick and take away a large number of daffodils, but she also allowed her young child to rip off many blooms and toss them down the bank.
Also, the war memorial is a notable feature. I defy anyone not to be moved by the figures on the side facing St George's Road.
