We stayed at the Dalmeny Hotel last weekend - 2 families with a 9 year old, 11 year old and 13 and 16 year old children. The family room we booked was spacious with a lovely sea view, a double bed and bunk beds. The facilities for kids were fantastic with entertainment, snooker and table-tennis, games room and a lovely swimming pool and spa. Lots of lovely comfy seating areas for adults and kids including a pool lounge and kids' lounge where they could relax and play. We ate in the Atrium Restaurant on our first night and the food was lovely although they were clearing tables away before we had finished eating! On our second and last night we ate in Sapori Italian restaurant in Blackpool which was lovely too. I will definitely be staying in the Dalmeny Hotel if we go back to St Annes/Blackpool.

Room Tip: Sea view room is a must!

This was our third visit to the Dalmeny for an August weekend. We had a group of 7 adults and 7 kids in 4 rooms. The hotel is very family focused, the rooms we're nice and clean although there are various styles and cycle of renovation, so for a group booking you might get different rooms. The hotel is well run and we had no negative experiences with the staff, all were friendly and professional. The hotel has got its own unique character, it feels different to other hotels, You can tell that the owners have pride in the standards of the hotel, there is evidence of a continuous program of renovation and each time we've been there is something new.

Two of our Grandchildren were staying with my wife and I for a fortnight and we took them to Lytham for a weekend. We booked a family room which was adequate. The hotel has great facilities for children with a terrific swimming pool that they just loved. On Saturday night they organised a talent contest. We were surprised at just how many children were staying at the hotel and they all seemed to want to enter the contest. The staff supervising the swimming pool and organising the talent show were excellent.

Our stay was on a room only basis. We ate breakfast on both days and supper on one evening. The food was satisfactory and plentiful.

Lytham is a pleasant resort with lovely sandy beaches and dunes to climb and fun things to do. Our grandchildren had a great time and want to go again.

This was a short break honeymoon. Having been to the damleny many times before we were sad to find the room hadnt really been properly cleaned. Dust on the rail and lights about the bed, over the mirrors and pictures and dirty toilet. We spoke to the team but it took 2 days to get a proper response which made us feel like our voices had been listened too. We love the hotel and hope they read this to up their game. We will be back as overall, the staff are really great, the location is super and the food has never let us down. I hope this helps provide a balanced review against a normally very good place to stay.

Just wanted to drop you a thank you note for choosing our hotel for your honeymoon break. So pleased to learn we helped to make it so special but naturally disappointed to hear your room was not up to our normal standards of cleanliness. This has been mentioned to management as it was a particularly busy time for our housekeeping staff and this is something we are normally prepared for. We hope you return and stay again soon.
