It's a secret down the secret passage so I'll have to whisper; you might have to turn up the volume on your device! You'll find it just off the high street and, bizarrely, they've put up a dirty great big sign saying Secret Passage. They've obviously got a future in MI5.
But the food isn't a secret....homemade and lovely, ideal for a light lunch, with friendly staff and a lovely outside eating area just ideal on a nice day.....well worth donning the dark glasses and black cloak.....just in case someone spots you!

We stumbled across little delicatessen/restaurant and ordered delicious toasted tea cakes that we enjoyed in the charming garden terrace. It was a real treat and we would highly recommend this place to those who wish to relax while enjoying good good.

Arrived and found a table 40 minutes before the official closing time of the garden, within a minute or so, we were informed by a waitress clearing tables that they were no longer serving sandwiches etc but we could have drinks if we wanted to. If you plan to stop serving food at different times, this should be printed on the menus to avoid disappointment.

We left extremely annoyed as it felt like the kitchen couldn't be bothered as we were still 40 minutes within the times printed on the menus. If it had been a few minutes coming up to the time food is stopped, then that would have been understanding.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch and were impressed with the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff. We were given lots of chicken in our baguette and chicken Caesar salad. Fantastic 'home made' cakes as well. My only constructive criticism / warning is that they only have two tables to eat in with - which could be solved by having one sales point (avoiding disjointment / confusion) perhaps by moving the cake stand to the back to free up space in the front for a few more tables, waitress served. Just a thought!

Deli selling a range of local and high end style food products with a fresh salad deli counter where you can select from the wide range and have lunch in the delightful secret garden. Wonderful on a sunny day. Service a little odd in that they had run out of knives and when the server came back she simply left them in the tray and didn't bring them over to us. Also didn't appreciate being charged 20p extra for milk in coffee. Overall, however, well worth the visit for a wholesome good value lunch.
