Description: Situated in the centre of a triangle between Ashford, Folkestone and Canterbury you'll find one of Kent's best-kept dining secrets. Tucked away in the quiet country village of Stowting, the 300 year-old Tiger Inn has a great reputation for serving the tastiest of dishes in a delightfully rustic setting, featuring a solid wood floor and bar, candlelit tables and real hanging hops. Our delicious dishes are prepared to the highest standards and carefully presented to ensure they're a feast for your eyes as well as your mouth, while our friendly staff will serve you promptly and ensure you thoroughly enjoy your meal. And to go with your food, choose from our wide range of real ales on tap, or a fine wine from our extensive selection. We serve food daily Wednesday through Sunday, from 12noon to 9pm (5pm Sunday). Walk-ins are very welcome, but to ensure you get a table, a reservation is highly recommended, especially in the evenings and at weekends.

I last visited this pub a couple of years ago when I Had a really good meal. It then changed hands and although l had not visited the reports were not so good. I had since heard good reports and booked for a meal. Fortunately l had booked as it was a Friday night and it was very busy. on entering we were met with a friendly but busy atmosphere, we asked to go to our table which was further towards the back of the pub and somewhat quieter. Our reception was efficient and courteous and we were shown to a nice table were our drinks order was taken and menus given to us. We were also informed of a 'Specials menu' displayed upon the blackboards.
We selected the mixed meat platter as a starter followed by Fish and Chips and The Lamb burger. The platter was good and had a variety of different things to try all of which was nicely presented and tasty. The same can be said of the Fish and Chips and Burger. The food arrived hot and was generous with the portions. This food is really good pub grub which is not meant in anyway as detrimental but is not fine dining but excellent pub food and very reasonable prices. The service we recieved during our visit was great and the fact it was so busy proves its popularity.

Booked Sunday lunch here - it serves till 5pm although in reality you need to be there much earlier if you want the full choice of menu.

Lovely pub, good beer, smiling welcome and decent menu. It was packed with diners. The food when it arrived was ok - suspect it is normally better but it was obviously too busy for them to cope.

We were at the back of the restaurant and at times I felt they had forgotten us.

Will return but when it is much quieter.
