Description: Nestled inside a five-star hotel surrounded by acres of parkland, the Wernher Restaurant offers a spectacular setting for every-day dinners and special occasions alike. Named after one of Luton Hoos most distinguished former owners, the dining room features marble panelwork, opulent fabrics and sparkling chandeliers that wouldnt look out of place in the Palace of Versailles. The restaurant was recently awarded two AA Rosettes and has been praised for its creative use of local, seasonal produce. Head Chef Kevin Clark specialises in modern British dishes like Dover sole with sauce grenobloise; roast breast of guinea fowl with sweet potato gnocchi; and fillet of beef with beetroot dauphinoise. With exquisite food and flawless service as standard, the Wernher offers an unforgettable dining experience.

Lavish surroundings, gorgeous food and attentive service made this a real treat for us at Luton Hoo.
We are no strangers to 'fine-dining' but this was special although it was not cheap (£150 for two including soft drinks only and tips). Our meal included exotic canapés, starters, a special soup concentrate, sorbet, our mains ( monkfish and pork) and desserts (coconut and lime crime brûlée ) followed by petite-four and fresh coffee.
Apparently the restaurant is open for roasts lunches at the weekend and we will be planning a return to sample that soon I think!!

I was taken here for lunch on my 70th birthday last Sunday,12th February. It was a family occasion and I have to say the service and food were second to none.We had prelunch drinks served in the lounge with canopes, then into this lovely room which is the Wernher restaurant for lunch.I dined on scallops in linguine, followed by beef carved from the trolley at the table, followed by cheese and crackers. This was washed down with Barolo and Sauvignon wines with tawny port with the cheese. We were a table of six and we all said it was a superb meal cooked and served faultlessly .We will come back again for more birthday celebrations,or for any excuse actually to savour another lovely meal at this fine location.Totally recommended!

We ate at the Wernher Restaurant recently and while we enjoyed the food and decor, the general level of service was pretty average (Apart from the French waiter, his name has escaped me).

After enduring the waitress trying to pronounce 'Pecorino' a few times on the table next to us (including calling it prosciutto) she then proceeded to do exactly the same thing with us. I think the staff should know that if they cannot pronounce the food, they should compose themselves or get guidance before going to the next table.

The food itself was good, the salmon was excellent (we had a cut down menu as it was a Sunday night). If they could get the service a little more snappy, they could be a well rated restaurant. The French waiter that I mentioned was excellent, he really helped make our meal enjoyable and he is an asset to the restaurant.

Our family treated us to dinner at the Wernher Restaurant in between Christmas and the New Year. The service and quality of food was excellent and we thought reasonably priced for such a fine location. My husband and I have dined here before and were so pleased when the rest of our family wanted to join us to celebrate a birthday. We couldn't wait to show them some of the fine features of this lovely building and with such a warm welcome from the staff, the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all .
