We booked three rooms for two nights as we were spending a week travelling down the East Coast as a family of seven .
We were able to park off the road in the properties drive which was great as we felt that the cars were safe and right outside the back door .
Our family room for three was a massive hit with our little boy as he had his own separate little room with his own tv , brilliant if you've got a slightly older child as they are still in the same room but with a bit of privacy .
There were complimentary toiletries , a hospitality tray and most importantly a lovely warm welcome from Zena .
The rest of our party were at the top of the house and they did mention that some of the hallways were cluttered and in need of some decorating .
Now for the breakfast ! We had a little contest between the 7 of us where we had to decide which of the four hotels we stayed in on our mini tour offered the best breakfast.
Brunton House was our winner by far !
Absolutely fantastic, well cooked quality food with plenty of tea, coffee , juice and toast ...... and fried bread ! Perfect fried bread !
Yes , the guest house is in need of updating but at just over £25 a night each , a super comfy bed , an amazing breakfast and lovely hosts , I would definitely come back .
Thank you Zena and Andy for your hospitality , we had a lovely stay .

I visited this hotel as a one night break to see Alfie Boe and Michael Ball. The room we were shown was on the first floor The bed base was black and looked as though it had come from the local tip. The bedding looked as though it had been slept in and had grease marks on the pillow. The light shades, fitments and TV were covered in dust and cigarette tar. The bathroom had a hole in pipe boxing and had a bin hiding it. The shower and fittings were filthy. We immediately packed and told the owner we were leaving because of the problems we had found
She made no attempt to offer us another room or recompense us the cost of Room.Do not book this hotel.

I have stayed 2 nights at Brunton House Hotel. I can say that me and my 2 dogs were made very welcome by Zena and Andy. I was given a sea view room with ensuite shower room. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. The bed linen and towels were very clean and the en suite was good. It was good that I could park my car safely in the hotel yard. The rest of the hotel is good ,Zena and Andy are excellent hosts and very attentive. My breakfast was delicious, fresh cooked full English. I would definitely go again and I would recommend the hotel to all except the ones who don't do stairs.
