“Excellent place to stay”
Reviewed 18 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Lovely house, finished to a very high standard. Owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The cottage has a rural feel but is only a 10 minute walk into Ballater. Our only reticence in giving the cottage a good review is that it will make it harder to rebook when we want to come back - which will be soon!
Had a great holiday here - best holiday cottage we have stayed in when in Scotland!

“Great, comfortable, well equipped cottage in Deeside”
Reviewed 31 January 2013 for a stay in January 2013

This is the second time I have stayed in Aberdeen Cottage and both times it has been great. The cottage is well equipped with everything that you would expect in a good self catering cottage. Great location, private detached cottage on the banks of the River Dee. Picturesque vista and plenty of bird life.
The cottage has a garage which is great for stroing mountain bikes. Kitchen is very well equipped with modern white goods and the lounge has a nice wood burning stove which is great on a cold Scottish night (it does eat logs though and takes time to master best/most economical settings).
Gavin the vendor is very pleasant and very helpful, good and easy to deal with. Nice welcome pack on arrival and local housekeeper easily contactable if required.
NB. I would also agree with previous reviewer, the tv is too small to watch comfortably in the evening. I learnt from last time and bought a 30 inch lcd with me which was a pain but worth it.
If you want a quiet, comfortable, well appointed self-catering cottage in a beautiful location and reasonably priced, then I would happily recommend Aberdeen Cottage.

Thank you for your kind words. We acknowledge your comments about the size of the television. We have bought a larger replacement which we are taking to the cottage in March. We are very pleased you enjoyed your second trip. Kind regards, Gavin and Sue

“Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed 21 January 2013 for a stay in October 2012

Superbly positioned cottage for Ballater and numerous walks (too many to list)
The cottage is very comfortable, clean, warm and inviting with all of the appliances you would need
Large enough garden for the pets to run around with ease (aswell as kids!!)
Despite being on the main road it's very quiet and gives you that remote feel yet is only a short 15min walk to the village centre, lots of other places to visit by short car journey's
This was our 4th trip to this cottage and we will be going back

“Home from Home”
Reviewed 2 December 2012 for a stay in November 2012

Well equipped comfortable cottage situated in good location for exploring surrounding area. Has wood burning stove in sitting room which was great on cold winter days. Garden is large and enclosed so good for pets. Welcome pack on arrival which included fresh baked bread from local bakery, milk, tea and coffee and not forgetting the shortbread!!!. NB perhaps TV could be a little larger especially those with poor sight.
Great stay, would recommend.

“Well-presented, well-located, comfortable cottage”
Reviewed 19 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

I stayed here in October 2012 for 10 days. The owner was easy to do business with; helpful and flexible. The cottage is very well-located, being on the A93 (NB traffic noise is no issue on this road) and within an easy, short walk of Ballater which has all the amenities you will require. There are many fabulous walks and cycle rides accessible from here (bikes available in Ballater) and the whole Royal Deeside area has a huge amount to offer - beautiful scenery, wildlife, good food establishments, distillery tours, a famous gliding site, etc. I just keep coming back...... Aberdeen cottage is a very pleasant base - clean, well-appointed, well located, nice gardens, lovely views. Great for the occasional rainy day. I very much enjoyed my stay and thoroughly recommend it.
