Large family stayed for 1 night in 2 rooms enroute to a holiday down south

Rooms were very clean and comfortable, surprisingly quiet too even though very handily located right by the M6.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming both at reception and in the morning at breakfast.

As ever in a Premier Inn, breakfast with kids is great value with kids dining free with adult breakfast. Breakfast was well made and good quility. Table service at the moment, which although not as good as serving yourself, worked well and plenty of food and drinks offered.

We will definitely stay here again, great price, location and service.

I, together with a friend have stayed at many Premier Inns over the last few years. We enjoy the consistent standard. The quality of housekeeping is excellent. The external appearance may look somewhat dated however internal improvements are being made. This did not impact on our stay.
We both chose the 'Premier Plus' option. I would highly recommend these rooms and suggest the reviewer look at the hotels web site for details.
The rooms window opens approximately 8 - 10''. No air con, however a pedi-style fan is available. Separate heater is attached to the wall. The usual coffee - tea facilities are in place ( the plus rooms have a coffee maker). Complimentary bottled water in the fridge. Ironing board is a useful extra not always available in PI rooms.
The mega comfy queen size bed always ensures a super nights sleep. Plenty of sensible located electric sockets (and usb). The rain shower was a pleasant experience. Liquid soap dispensers located in appropriate places next to the washing basin and shower. I
The breakfast was served in the adjoining restaurant. 'One-way' system in force. Guests need to wait at the entrance to be shown to their social distance seating. Full English breakfast for £8.99 was good value and served to order (fresh and tasty). Compliments to the breakfast staff in particular 'Barbara' & 'Chris'. Courteous welcome we received from 'Sadie' at the reception.
We look forward to a return when visiting the Hadrians Wall experience. 'In die enim bona'....

The rooms are very clean
The staff are friendly and helpful as always.
However it doesn't say on the website that the restaurant is closed and you have to eat in your room which leaves it smelling of your meal for the rest of the night.
I was impressed with safety covid measures but did notice some of the antibacterial dispensers where empty on our arrival and it might be a good idea to have one at the carpark entrance.
The premier room is lovely and worth the extra all the extra touches are a welcome change but please make sure that there is shower gel ect has been refilled ours was empty and only noticed when I went to use it.

Dear Mrs Skinner,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I'm so pleased that you found our team friendly and helpful, and will pass this feedback onto them. I would like to apologise that you were not aware that our restaurant was not open. We are working towards opening our restaurant for evening meals so the next time you stay with us you should be able to enjoy a meal in our restaurant.

I would also like to apologise that you found some of our hand sanitiser dispensers to be empty and your shower gel dispenser to be empty. I will take these points to our Head Housekeeper to ensure the team are checking these more thoroughly and more regularly moving forward.

Thank you again for your review, I hope we are able to welcome you back to stay with us soon.

The outside of this hotel looks like a 1960 prefab. The inside is under reconstruction. The rooms are superb. I was in a premier+ room. Very comfortable great bed & shower. Good workspace.

Breakfast was excellent. Well organised in Restaurant. The evening meal was room service only. You needed to pick it up from restaurant. The menu was limited. Served in brown paper boxes. Not very appetising. Having stayed in a number of Premier Inns through Covid that have a restaurant open at night. It does not make sense to me.

Having said that the rooms make up for it. Would defiantly stay again.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for your reveiw of your recent stay with us. You're quite right, the outside of the building does not do the inside justice, especially our recently refurbished bedrooms. I'm pleased you were able to enjoy one of our new Premier Plus rooms, they've certainly been very popular since they were introduced.

I will pass your lovely feedback regarding breakfast to the team, who I'm sure will be thrilled to hear your comments. Regarding your experience of an evening meal, I will pass on your feedback regarding the limited menu. We are working towards reopening our restaurant for evening meals so the next time you stay with us you should be able to enjoy your meal in our restaurant.

Thank you again for taking the time to review your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Carlisle.
