Yorkshire Sculpture Park is exactly what it’s says.......a lovely country park full of sculptures!

We had a very nice walk around the park, I can’t argue with the £10 parking charge, given it doesn’t cost anything to actually get in. So a family day out for £3 each (in our case) is well worth it.

The only downside was the cafe. I know they need to make money but £1.85 for a can of drink, £3.75 for a sausage roll and £2.90 for a coffee is ridiculous! We got 1 bag of crisps, a sausage roll, 2x coffee, 1 can of pop and a caramel shortbread and it came to £15.45!!!

I would really recommend people visit as the park is lovely, but for the sake of your bank balance bring your own food and drink!!!

Thank you for your comments. I am really pleased to hear that you would recommend a visit to YSP.

We try to provide a varied offer in our catering outlets to suit all tastes and budgets and do monitor the cost of other regional attractions and galleries and we believe that YSP is comparable. However, we do offer designated picnic areas onsite and visitors are welcome to bring their own food to the Park.

Best wishes,
Kerry Chase

We returned to YSP this week for a look at the latest exhibits and a good old healthy walk.

The weather has certainly had an impact on the park recently. Many of the grass areas were rightly cordoned off to prevent further damage. Most of the woodland walks were very muddy and difficult to use due to the volume of rain.

There are some interesting exhibits on show currenly. We enjoyed our visit as always.

£10 parking for the day is a slight increase on our last visit. As always the cafe is slightly overpriced but the quality of good.

Thank Lockster

Visited here many times and today's visit did not disappoint. Always something new to see-check website for exhibitions. Fortunately for us the sun chose to shine on our visit. Parking is paid for but entry is free. Don't forget to pick up a free guide to external sculptures and then you can choose how far you want to walk. Also don't miss a trip to the coffee shop downstairs where you can sit outside and enjoy the views and the restaurant upstairs that has a good array of food to suit all. You can also sit outside upstairs and enjoy the same views and weather. Toilets are located around the site and I noticed there were mobility scooters available ( not sure of the arrangements for these but if you rang I'm sure they'd tell you) Finally the gift shop has a range of interesting items to buy, prices range from low to high.
