The hotel and grounds are very well preserved and it's lovely to stay in such a historic building but... as previous guests have mentioned it is very quiet so you find yourself whispering as you walk around and when in the dining hall. The bedroom was fine, dinner was the big disappointment, the starter and main were rather flavourless and desert uninspiring.
Breakfast was ok, great if you love haddock or kippers, not massive choice if fish isn't your thing.
The spa was nice, mostly used by local retired people as their regular gym but they were very friendly and gave tips on the hotel and spa. The hotels main clientele seems to be retired customers via their links with National Trust. If you fit this demographic I think you will love the hotel as it is very peaceful in a lovely setting. Otherwise I think for me it's more somewhere I would just visit for afternoon tea.

A surprise birthday treat that exceeded every expectation. Our cottage suite was superbly comfortable and quiet, the spa treatment was excellent, gardens as gorgeous as ever and the food excelled and was out of this world. Best of all are the staff, always so helpful and keen for you to enjoy your stay. We loved our weekend treat and introduced old friends to a new fine dining experience. Total bliss.

Recently had a three nights stay at Bodysgallen Hall. The hotel is easy to find being just off the A470. The drive up towards the hotel is spectacular. However, the speed bumps along the way are far too severe.

Check-in was swift and we were shown to our room. We had Room 21 (classed as the Attic Suite!) It comprised of a small sitting room, bathroom (bath with no separate shower) and a bedroom. Unfortunately, if you are over 6 feet you risk banging your head on the very low beams!

If you dine at the Bodysgallen on a Monday evening it is a simpler menu. The food was excellent. My husband particularly liked the poached lamb. His quote being’ the best lamb’ he had tasted. There was a good choice of wines, although some were on the pricey side. You could either have coffee at your table or go into the lounge area.
Complimentary tea is delivered to your room in the morning, as no kettles are allowed in the main bedrooms of the hotel.

Breakfast was very good with various choices available including fish.

The gardens of the hotel are lovely to wander around.

Bodysgallen is ideally situated for visiting Bodnant Gardens (well worth a visit), Llandudno and Conwy.

This Hotel leaves nothing to be desired. The buidling is beautiful, very old, warm and welcoming with lovely furniture and stunning views.

The staff were superb, the food first rate, the wine not unreasonably priced and to cao it all we had perfect weather (in the middle of October!)

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room on the main building. There are 16 cottages, all lovely but not so good to walk to in the rain after a good dinner.
