What can I say only a fool would turn up in Llandudno on a whim on the one weekend of the year when the whole resort was playing host to a national scooter rally. I know we should have checked first. Anyway we strolled around the resort looking at windows full of "no vacancy" signs when much to our surprise we came across the Whitefriars B&B with a "vacancy" sign so in we went. We were met by a very helpful lady who explained she had one double room left. No pressure to take it despite the rarity of an empty room was and she insisted we view it first. It was classed as a small double, but had plenty of room for the two of us and the bathroom looked like it had recently been upgraded and was clean and modern, with toiletries, face cloths, cotton wool balls etc. The room had TV and tea and coffee facilities and you could tell someone had made an effort to make the room welcoming. Needless to say we took the room. The breakfast room was a little crowded the next morning with fellow guests there attending the scooter rally, but we were all served by the two very friendly staff and the breakfast was very tasty. Some might say the Whitefriars was a little tired and past its prime (the bar no longer served drinks for example) but the staff more than made up for small frailties. So if you need a comfortable, clean place to stay in Llandudno with a great breakfast and great service try the Whitefriars. It might be the most modern establishment in town, but you will enjoy your stay none the less.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff - when we arrived the lady in charge was doing her best to help a couple find a room elsewhere for two nights - above and beyond what might be expected. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with slightly dated decor but lots of space - comfy chairs as well as the bed, good quality TV, and little details like fluffy towelling bathrobes in the bathroom.

Breakfast was tasty - a standard cooked plate, but they were very ready to adapt to requests or accept alternative suggestions - they provided breakfast for one of our group who had to leave for a train over an hour before the official start of breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit, cereals and orange juice on a buffet basis, excellent coffee. We had more than enough to eat, but it was clear requests for extra would have been cheerfully complied with.

I'd happily stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front overlook the street - can be a touch noisy.

Lovely little b&b. Old fashioned but homely and cosy. Pam the owner, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was cosy and welcoming - nothing OTT, but what we needed for a one night stay - comfort and relaxation. Breakfast was filling, freshly prepared and served quickly - good range of food to choose from too.

We had a very warm welcome from Pam, nothing was too much trouble. We had booked three rooms, all of which were very comfortable. The house wasn't fully booked on the night of our stay, so Pam offered us a choice of rooms.
Excellent breakfast and a guided tour of the garden with some good tips and advice.
