I got a premiere room and was hopeful.

Well, I got a kitchenette, sort of, to boil water. It sits between the bathroom and the bed. In a line. Separated by a breakfast table.

The bedroom is all right. The TV looked snowy but who watches TV. There is a balcony overlooking the sea. It's somewhat private.

The weak spot is the bathroom. Water pressure is weak. Drainage is even weaker. So after showering, you need to wait to drain the water and then rinse your feet.

The tap in the sink has to be turned a few rounds, then water gushes out, and then you turn it back. And yes, beware the hot water tap for that reason.

The other weak spot is the lift system. There are 3 of them. But two separate buttons. You press both because they are separate, remember. Then when you get into the lift, the other button is still "active." So one the two other lifts will stop on the floor where you had left. And that happens all the way down. So it can take 10 mins from the time you press the button, to get from 23 floors to the LL.

The food is not bad for the price.

Overall, if you need to economise on a holiday, this is a safe place to consider. Otherwise, the real action is at Batu Ferringhi a few km up.

I was looking so forward to staying here as several friends had been guests over past years.
Location is great. Hotel is aging - staff are keeping building very clean. Very few guests were staying on 2 days I was there. Large room with amazing balcony views over ocean and surrounding area.
Great Indian restaurant across road for 2 dinners and a lunch. Breakfast was poor at hotel.
Spent time sightseeing locally with lots of walking. Great hotel to relax.

I booked a room under "H Suite at Rainbow Paradise, Georgetown" through Expedia. Upon arrival at the hotel reception counter, i was told to contact a private number for check-in because the room was "owned by private" and NOT under hotel management even though is within the same building. I was puzzled and I contacted the private number and was instructed to take the hotel lift and proceed to wait at 22nd floor. I waited for 15 minutes and a guy came up and lead us to our room. Once he open the door, this is my comment
1. the room is smelly, the exposed wiring, the wall and ceiling paint peeling off, bath tub is dirty, etc. i have attached few photos
2. air-con was functioning for 5min, and then cranking sound pops up and it stops
I went to the hotel reception to request for a change of room and was told the following
1. the meaning of private own rooms are any problem with the rooms are not their responsibility. they "sold off" few hotel rooms to third party and all services are privately managed
2. all facilities and room services provided by the hotel side, if any usage, i have to pay separately to the hotel
3. i will have to pay for a new room that is managed by the hotel management side if i wanted to change room
This leave me no choice but to pay again to change to a room under the hotel management side. I am sharing my lesson learnt to everyone including Expedia!

Room tip: just avoid this hotel because you wouldn't know which rooms are sold to private group

Centrally located in Tanjung Bungah with good bus connection to Batu Feringhi.
Rooms a bit dated but OK for the price. Swimming pool and restaurants in good condition Breakfast adequate for 35MYR per day though you could walk across the road and get a good breakfast in café for 17MYR.

Room tip: Fantastic veiws from the higher floors
