This hotel tries really hard. Seemingly ran by a very friendly, fairly elderly couple, our room had a brilliant white kinda naval spacious vibe to it, It was extremely clean and bright with a HUGE bathroom with wet room, although the cabinet, drapes and chandelier made it a little dated. This hotel is located right next to the ferry pier. Eventually you will not notice the noise of the ferry clunking against the mooring and the ramps being lowered and the cars bumping over them every 20 minutes. The immediate area is not quite as perfect as the pictures will lead you to believe. The little harbour has nothing you could call a beach and the boats and jetty therein are generally pretty grotty. The views of the distant snow-capped mountains across the fjord just about make up for that. The breakfast was included and the all-day buffet was pretty good value (for Norway) at £25 per head offering all-you-can-eat fresh prawns, pasta, lasagne, pie, veggies, fish-dish-of-the-day, bread, cold meats and ice cream.
