I stayed at this hotel for a conference. Despite it's historic exterior, this is a very modern and newly renovated hotel with all amenities. The rooms are clean, comfortable and modern, and quiet for being in the middle of the city. Note that not all rooms have exterior windows. The food is quite decent.
The interior design is certainly different from most business hotels. A colleague described the style as "luxury brothel". Expect dim lighting, leather chandeliers, dark velvet drapery and some very odd crystal medieval weaponry lamps.
I experienced a pretty good, if a bit cramped, breakfast buffet. A rather average lunch buffet for a premier business hotel, and a quite good banquet dinner.
The location is excellent, smack in the middle of the nice southern coastal city of Kristiansand, both a heavy industrial city and a popular holiday destination. It's the capital of "sørlandet", the sunniest (least cold and rainy) coastal strip in Norway.More
