This is a fairly new hotel smack in the middle of Kristiansand, the part called Kvadraturen (The quadrangle). The name originates from when the Danish king Christian the fourth in 1641 decided to build a new town on the sand (got it?). Norway became independent in 1905. You enter a fairly large reception and breakfast area that to my taste was a bit dark. The hotel is much bigger than you might think as the footprint / width out to the street is much smaller than the total area, as the building stretches across the block into the next street. A carpark is in the middle but I didn't hear a thing. Clean ,modern doublebedded room with everything you need as long as you can do without a minibar. The breakfast was included in the price and was filled with ample choice.
