I stayed in the hotel for three nights and it was an excellent stay. The hotel is superbly located, the rooms are a great size and had all modern amenities despite being very old world. The breakfast was excellent with a huge range of fresh fruit for breakfast. It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel.

The first impression is of an other era. People sitting in the lounge for afternoon tea, surrounded by old books, chandeliers,.... Impressed with the charm of this older hotel. The room we were in was very comfortable with a small balcony. Very clean and quiet. The Bristol Grill serves a very good breakfast. The hotel is a short walk away from the Parliament and City Hall. Many restaurants nearby and lots of shopping if you want.

We really loved our room at the Bristol, overlooking a shopping area, but very quiet. It had lovely wooden floors, a very comfortable bed with nice linens, and a wonderful location for people like us who really like walking around. The hotel itself has a retro elegance, great finishes, up-to-date lighting and fixtures. We loved the casual bar and afternoon tea area, and the breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired. The shower in the bathroom is very tiny. You can shower in it, but your elbows hit both walls if you wash your hair!

Dear Intlxpatr,
Thank you for your review. We are glad that you were happy with the feel of the hotel and its location. Unfortunately, as in many old buildings, things are not streamlined, - so we apologize for the tiny shower.
Welcome back some other time, and hopefully we can then improve your experience with the shower!

We loved the old feel to this place, with gilded ceilings and chandeliers. The room was quiet and clean. The breakfast was efficient, but the restaurant service was lacking at breakfast. And, we tried to have dinner in the main dining room and after standing at the hostess station for several minutes while the wait staff ignored us, we left to eat elsewhere.

Dear bikehog,
Thank you for your nice review of your recent stay with Hotel Bristol. We do apologize, however, that you were left standing and not attended to at the hostess station. We do also make a note of the fact that you thought the service at breakfast was lacking. We will deal with this very seriously. Thank you again for letting us know.

Hotel Bristol is kind of a throwback. An older property that has been modernized to the extent that it can be. The public areas were very nice and somewhat elegant. Rooms are varied size, as is common in older properties. Our room was on the small side, but it was well laid out. The bathroom was also very small, but well laid out- it reminded me of a bathroom on a river cruise ship- small but efficient with a nicely sized shower stall with a rain shower option. The beds were some of the more comfortable ones we experienced in Scandinavia- a little firmer than most we encountered. Our room faced the interior courtyard- no views, but no street noise. Surprisingly for an older hotel, there was some noise leakage from either an adjoining room or the hall. We did have an issue with a smelly mattress pad that had not been changed from the previous guest, but after we called the front desk, a staffer came up within a few minutes, changed all of the bedding and resolved the issue. A good location allows one to walk to most areas of the inner city.
