This place serves the best Hungarian goulash in town. It is a family-run business conveniently located in downtown. The portions are big, the flavour is amazing and the price is decent. This was one of our favourite meals while in Vienna.

Took the kids for lunch and felt like I was at my in laws, so welcoming. The food was to die for and our waiter was outstanding. Would like to take this place home with us.

We were following recommendations in the guide book for good places to eat, and this was duly listed. Compact and bijou springs to mind - almost like being in someone's living room. The food was good, and some 'small' plates were offered which were more than adequate for lunchtime eating. Prompt service, nice warm cheese scones offered - the only downer was perhaps the poor bathroom facilities. Worth trying out.

The restaurant is on a great location and really easy reachable. It is small but the food is really delicious. We tried the beef goulash.

This is the type of restaurant I love to just happen upon.Family run since the 1950s by Hungarians. The food has that home made comfort factor sought by many and achived only by those who take the time to put real love into their food. It is found near the top of the Bruaunestrasse about 25 yards from the "Plague column"
Simply furnished with odd bits of memorabilia on the walls interspersed with menu items on slates. The tablecloths are crisp, clean and pressed. Staff are kind, warm and friendly and service is unhurried without being slow. The menus varied with beef, veal, pork, chicken and fish dishes. There were also some vegetarian dishes, mostly with cabbage and onion bases as far as I could see. The beef goulash with Hungarian pasta was a joy to eat. Robust in flavour and mine looked to be made with shin of beef. The only cut to cook long and slow for 3 hours plus till it melts in the mouth. Boy, was it good! Wiener Schnitzel was spotted but not tried. Two large escalopes of veal. A trencherman's delight! The pork escalope in breadcrumbs with roast potato and cabbage was also very good. The cabbage is a marvellous delicately fermented, florally perfumed type of sauerkraut which I have never before tasted but would recommend. This is mamas cooking..... the final delight was a home made pancake filled with slightly tart apricot jam and covered in strong black chocolate before dusting with icing sugar. Fabulous....
Good selection of cold local beers, wines, spirits, soft and hot drinks.
Very reasonable bill.
This is a very good place to eat. Will be back.
