Maintaining a sceptical view of some reviews on Tripadvisor, we are happy to report most of the great reviews of this hotel are Justified. Very friendly receptionists, great room with your own Nespresso machine, nice sauna, great location (good cafes near by, close to museum quarter, 25minute walk from St.Stephens), tasty breakfast (continental), decor is original without being over powering. Only possible gripe is the very slow lift, it is often faster to walk, but having eaten so well in Vienna you will need the extra exercise!

Stayed here 4 nights in single-occupancy double room at 4th floor. The room was rather small, but nicely decorated. The staff, notably in the breakfast room, is very friendly and service is in top.
However, the best about this hotel is the location just a few minutes walk from the Museum Quartier.

We stayed at Das Tyrol for 3 nights over the busy Vienna Christmas period. Everything about the hotel was amazing - the rooms are luxurious (N'espresso coffeemaker included!), service without fault, breakfast amazing and the location absolutely great. The sauna and spa area was just fabulous (no extra cost!) In all, a perfect place to stay while you are in Vienna!

Arriving february 8, 2013 to the most serviceoriented employee at the frontdesk was a good start. During our (family of 3) stay until february 11 we experienced only the best service. Furthermore our room was nice and clean, excellent bathroom and especcially the SPA-area was a major plus. The breakfast was outstanding and again with an excellent service. This Hotel can only be recommended to everyone.

A member of Small Luxury Hotels was an encouragement to book this hotel and we were not disappointed. The reception was warm and welcoming, and the staff take the time to make sure you know where everything is, provide maps and information for visits and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Our room was No 20, a corner room with panoramic windows, beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and there was a choice of pillows. A Nespresso machine was a welcome bonus, the mini bar was well-stocked and the bathroom overflowing with towels and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was served every morning with a choice for every nationality - cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, pastries, meats, cheeses, salads, and eggs and omelettes cooked freshly for each guest as required, Again, the staff were helpful and the food was delicious and very fresh. There is a private sauna on the lower ground floor which can be booked; great to warm up in! Situated close to a metro station means you can get to anywhere in the city that you need to, although the centre is very walkable and the hotel is very happy to arrange for taxis for you, which are also reasonable. If staying in Vienna for more than three days, do buy the Vienna card as you can travel on the metro, trams and buses for 72 hours for 19 euros and it provides savings for many of the attractions. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so special, particularly Bettina who was incredibly helpful.

Room Tip: We had Room 20 which was brilliant.
