We enjoyed our stay in Ambassador Hotel, it was confortable, very well located, clean, quiet, cozzy, we were on our honeymoon and it was a lovely stay :), everything was close enough, and Viena is an adorable city so its definetly worth it! :)

Room Tip: We stayed at a double classic and we enjoyed our stay :)

Fine hotel in the center of Vienna. Good sleep quality and fine breakfast (especially like the fresh beet juice). As for the "why not 5" question: well the hotel does not have a fitness center - which in my book is a downside - and something I really missed. You can bring your running shoes and run on the streets - but no inside fitness.

But if fitness is not on your mandatory list then it is a great choice. Also Medusa (bar/restaurant) is great - highly recommended)

Dear THN_DK,

Thank you for choosing the Ambassador Hotel Vienna and posting a review on TripAdvisor. Your feedback regarding our services is very valuable for us.

Unfortunately, our hotel does not offer a fitness area but we work with a local fitness and wellness center as well as a spa. Both are only a few minutes away from the hotel. Our reception gladly provides further information and issues a reduced voucher.

We sincerely hope you consider the Ambassador Hotel again for your next business trip to Vienna.

Kind regards

We booked the hotel on line and the interaction on line was prompt and very good. Their responses were clear and friendly.
The room was large and well furnished , overlooking the very busy Kartnerstrasse. A great shopping location. The hotel irself is very central and close to the cultural and historical sites - easy walking almost anywhere you wanted to go. Chritmas Markets were very handy.
Breakfast and retaurant meals were excellent. Staff in these areas were cheery and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately this attitude did not extend to front of house who seemed aloof, taking little or no interest in our well being or enjoyment at the hotel. The doorman completely ignored us trying to get luggage out of the hotel and into a taxi on a cold, snowy morning.
We had some questions also about the efficiency of the housekeeping staff. They did a basic clean, but no attention to detail.
Prospective guests should also be aware that the lounge and bar area are smoking zones and that the smell of smoke filters almost everywhere.
None the less we loved our time in Vienna. We can recommend The Medusa Retaurant, just outside the front door and to your left. The Tyrolean Haus and the Mozart cafe were great for coffee and cake; and a nreal gem is the Julius Mendl wine bar.

Room Tip: make sure you stipulate non smoking if that is what you want.

What a fabulous location, hospitable staff, comfortable room and glorious view! Hotel Ambassador is right in the heart of Old Vienna, flanked on one side by the shops of Kamtner Strasse, the other side facing Neumarket and the beautiful Capuchin Church (and Kaisergruft). We were fortunate to spend the Christmas holidays in this historic and lovely city. Few experiences can compare to hearing the vespers roll across the city from our cozy yet spacious room on Christmas Eve. The staff is friendly, professional and courteous. A stroll to the Opera House or the Hofburg Palace is only 5 or 10 minutes, St Stephen's even less. We have been lucky to stay in some truly memorable places around the world, and the Hotel Ambassador is one of my favorites!

Stayed in Apartment 602 for 1 week, large, great views + 2 x doors that open for fresh air / views. Apartment overlooks the Kartnerstrasse - wonderful ambiance, music at night, views to Stephansdom from very small balcony. No problems with noise from Karnerstrasse at all with doors closed. Great elevator from ground floor - small corridor to Apartment 602 and no stairs.

Highly recommended as best location ever for central Vienna with choice of direct access either onto the Kartnerstrasse or Neuer Markt. All attractions within walking distance. (Opera House, Stephansdom, Hofburg complex, Maria Hilfer Strasse etc. Staff pleasant, attentive and very helpful. Very efficient heating - some difficulty making apartment cooler (even with oil heaters on lowest setting)- but great to be able to open the doors to cool down.
Hotel resturaunt good with menu and prices comparable to surrounding cafes for lunch / dinner. Many cafes/ coffee shops/ Kartnerstrasse booths ect for other menu options - all very close, and a great option as the Hotel breakfast is comparatively expensive. 2 Billa supermarkets within walking distance, Nordsee directly across from front door in Kartnerstrasse, and complementary tea/coffee is provided in house (so lots of eating options). Apartment kitchen comes with small fridge, microwave, kettle, pod coffee maker, saucepan / frying pan, cutlery and crockery (all replaced clean every day after use). Would have been perfect if there has been a toaster provided.
Good in room safe provided but limited wardrobe space for family (one wardrobe only) - small hanging space only and no wardrobes in bedroom itself. No facility to hold suitcases for unpacking - ended up living from suitcases on the floor- would have been much better with addition of some collapsibe suitcase stands!!!.
Free WiFi is reliable + good speed. Bathroom is large with great skylight, separate WC, huge deep bath and shower - great for families. Extra bed provided was very comfortable and set up in lounge for arrival. Great service to clean/ change towels ect - but bath towel quality very poor (old and very thin) - this suprising given the absolute quality of everything else.
Lounge area - large with comfortable sofa and single chairs with coffee table + small "kitchen table" and chairs. Flat screen TV's good - one in lounge and bedroom.
I highly recommend this Apartment for luxury family accomadation in the very heart of Vienna !

Room Tip: Great music / city life from Apartment 602 that overlooks the Kartnerstrasse. No noise at all once door closed.
