“Another Perfect Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2010

This was our second visit, in one of the larger apartments. (The smaller ones are very nice also). We loved everything about it: the large rooms, the antiques, the comfy beds, the parquet floors, the modern fully equipped kitchen complete with dishwasher. Best of all are the huge windows overlooking the spectacular Stephansdom Cathedral which is really the very center of Vienna. We got into the habit of paying a quick visit to the Cathedral every day, as it seems many Viennese do. There are many thoughtful touches, such as good reading lights. The free WiFi worked perfectly. There is a grocery store close by, and many restaurants in all price ranges. We walked almost everywhere, but the U-Bahn station is just downstairs for longer treks. The train from the airport plus a short U-Bahn ride would work well, but we opted for a pre-arranged taxi, which cost 35 Euros. I think this is about the same price as if we had taken a taxi from the stand at the airport. The driver had keys to the apartment and helped us with our luggage. Even though we missed a connection and had to take a later flight, a phone call was enough to change the arrangements and it felt like a real luxury to have a driver waiting for us after a long stressful day of travel. The owners of the apartments are absolutely delightful, very kind and helpful. They are on site in the morning and easily accessible at other times via cell phone. We loved fixing our breakfast in our room while watching the city wake up in the square below us. We also loved buying pastries at the wonderful Aida shop on the corner and bringing them up to our room at the end of the day. The apartments are quiet and private. Travelers looking for a lot of activity, a lively lobby, or trendy decor would not be happy. As for us, we loved the feeling of being residents of Old Vienna. We hope to return again and again.

Well thought up apartments. They even have your name on the outside bell and on your door. Lovely mother & son team who do all they can to make the stay comfortable. Thanks for the card & chocs for my birthday.
Ideal for couples.

We stayed here in September for 3 nights. Absolutely perfect in every way. Location, value, etc. The apartments are so spacious and the views are to die for. It was like staying in a Penthouse. In fact it was a Penthouse. Mom and son team are by far the nicest most hospitable hoteliers you are ever going to come across. Some of the rooms have a washer/dryer. We didn't know this. When we asked where we could go nearby to wash clothes they took the clothes and washed them for us in a vacant apartment. UNBELIEVABLE! The day we left the son took our luggage down to the street, hailed a cab, loaded it with our luggage, and made sure with the cabbie that we were going to pay the proper rate. Could go on and on about this place. We were going to stay at one of the "bigger" names, but kept seeing this get good review after good review, so canceled and booked the Pension Sacher. SO GLAD WE DID and we saved lots of $$$$$!

Pension-Sacher was a pleasant experience and now feel we have a home away from home in Vienna.
We loved our room with all the amenities of home including a very comfortable bed and a pot of coffee every morning. Each day as I opened our huge windows and St. Stephen's Cathedral was across the street, I almost felt I was in a movie setting. The owners were incredibly gracious and welcoming. When we were leaving Vienna and headed to the airport at 6 AM, my husband thought he had left a jacket in our room. I emailed the owner and jacket was not in our room so she tracked down the taxi she had arranged for us to get to the airport and found the jacket. She has mailed it to us - definitely above and beyond her responsibility - we felt like a family member was making sure we had all our belongings.
We ended our 17 day Austrian and Czech Republic trip with 3 days in Vienna and Pension Sacher was definitely "icing on the cake", a great way to end our trip.

We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment and it was truly great. excellent kitchen, good bathroom , wifi , huge bedroom....with a view that is simply a knockout....directly onto St. Stephens. i actually checked my emails to see if the charge wasnt per person.
Add to that a great owner, and her so very nice family and i award this my no 1 rating of all the hotels we have stayed at all over the world... simply unbelievable value for money! If you want an apartment and end up booking somewhere else you are making a big mistake.
