The rooms are large and well appointed and with built in wardrobes as are common in Europe. Very cLean, comfortable beds and large bathrooms. Soap bottle dispensers unsatisfactory with one liquid soap for body wash, hair wash and hand wash - all the same bottle. Otherwise good towels, mirrors, lights, safe and hair dryer. Large windows, pleasant breakfast room and plentiful breakfasts. Restaurant is two mins from Opera House, five from the Albertina and 10 to the Hofberg or St. stephensplatz - all must see experiences. Excellent cafe on corner (Aida's). Staff are helpful -especially Harold at the front desk. Only annoyance is that only one person was on the desk and they require you to leave your key so you may wait ten minutes or more to get it back if that person is helping another guest. Multi tasking would be appreciated under the circumstances.
Street side rooms are a little noisy with traffic; inside rooms have no view but are much better for sleeping. Would recommend this hotel for location and friendly assistance.

The Das Opernring hotel is conveniently situated. Virtually across the road from the Opera House, about a 25 min walk from the Wien Mitte station which is where the City Airport Train (CAT) operates from. Although it's quicker to hop on the U-Bahn (subway) station and get off at Karlsplatz (green line U4) which is only a couple of stops and just around the corner from the hotel. Very easy to get to Schonbrunn palace from here too as again, you can take the U4 at the nearby U-Bahn at Karlspatz to get there.
Stephensdom and the Museum Quarter all within walking distance from the hotel.
There is also a gorgeous coffee shop next to the hotel selling delicious cakes! The Spar is a block away in case you've forgotten anything (in our case a toothbrush) and it's a good place to buy chocolates to take home as it's cheaper than the chocolate shops situated on the tourist trail. A Subway shop is also nearby and a fabulous sausage stand!

The hotel itself is nice. The first thing we noticed as we entered was how lovely it smelled! Our room was spacious and had all we needed. Good size shower, lovely comfy beds, Fridge, TV and most of all (and a big plus) tea and coffee making facilities.

Everything was spotlessly clean and the free WiFi connection was fine. Best of all was the staff. Super friendly and extremely helpful. They were a credit to the hotel.

It was in such a good location, we enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We had a front room, so with the window open there was a little traffic noise.

Booked this hotel based on its map location and was not disappointed. The hotel is central to the city center and the Opera House is visible from our balcony. The rooms are spacious with very high ceilings. If you want a full service hotel with lots of staff and amenities, this might not be the hotel for you. However, if you want a clean, quiet, centrally located hotel, this is the place. It definitely feels more like an apartment versus a hotel.

The best feature is the included breakfast buffet on the 3rd floor. It's a great way to start the day.

After reading reviews about this hotel, I went ahead to book it. No doubt, very central, short distance walk to most attractions and public transport stations. It's marked 4 stars but does not resemble of 4 stars I know. The hotel entrance outside and inside need a lot of refreshing. It is old - not antique nor vintage beauty. The small lobby with the reception desk. The elevetor/lift, old and small. The room is clean so is bathroom. We had single beds put together to be double beds, they were all right. Breakfast is ok too. Hotel staff courteous. I give 3stars.
